What did you do with your 4runner today?

I know I'm definitely going SPC because of the ball joint. It's got a rubber boot around it. Perfect protection from the New England weather and road conditions.

My rubber boots cant stay hooked on the top of the ball joint. Its stupid, it slides up and down. I need to see if i can put a band on it or something.

I will not get into all the details. But I had more than one of their adjustable control arms fail on my other vehicle. Needless to say I almost put my other vehicle into the wall at the track. The failure of the arm(s) cost me a ton of $$ in repairs. The manufacture provided me a replacement (no sorry or comp for the other repairs due to their part failure). One of the others (not the replacement) failed the following season.

I am not risking my family on that brands products. Overall failure rate might be low, but not worth the cost savings to me.

well that's scary. I know there were issues with the SPC UCAs but they have been addressed in some regard. I'm surprised though, I had nothing but positive experiences with SPC. Oh well.

Wheels/Tires Mounted!

Finally decided on tires and had them mounted yesterday. They look killer, but it looks like, i'll have to set my 5100's at 2.5 and run a rear spacer. For now I've got to push the liner forward. Good thing I didn't go with 275/70s...

Positive reviews except for several with cracking welds, rubber boots that don't stay put and seal the BJ, bushings that wear overly quick, locknuts that come lose, some with excessive play.... So as long as you keep an eye in them they should be fine. But for me I am not spending $$ on them.

What size did ya go with???? TWO BiG thumbs for that sexy looking truck!!!

Finally was able to get my 4Runner plated! Since it was an out of state purchase, the process took a little while.

I've flexed my truck every which way. Never noticed thumping except when my tires are contacting my fenders or my rear bumper.

Have someone check out your truck when you flex. It might be your fender liner.

It sounds very rhythmic even when Im slowing to a crawl, sounds like something is binding but Ill look around next time and see if its contacting anything. I did move my liners up a little last weekend and still noticed it, its only when everything is twisted (like in your pic).

Is it only one specific way you flex, like just one specific corner, or is it just when you are off a paved road no matter what obstacles you hit?

I just noticed it either direction when I tested my suspension/breather hose length, njshadow said it might be traction control...in one of my videos you hear one tire get a little rotation, 2 wheels are on tarmac 2 are off so maybe thats it?

I'll look at the video you send me and I'll see if I can think of anything

Based on discussions with others I removed my front sway bar and man did it smooth things out. It eliminated a majority of the harshness I gained from going stock with Xreas to Bills set max with FJ coils. Maneuverability is not much decreased as I have all ready taken some high speed curves to decide if I was going to keep it off or put it back on. It will stay off for now. Thanks Mike and Alex.:thumb3:

Glad you like it John! The only time I really feel the sway bar is gone is when I take an off ramp too fast and I apply the brake. If I'm turning right, you feel the truck lean to the driver front corner, but it's not like "OMG I'm gonna flip" haha.

How bad was the removal? Pretty easy, ya California-car-owning bastard? :rockthrow:

I believe he has an extensive write-up on an Acura website. Here it is.

I'll take a looksie.
