I participated in an active shooter exercise with the lab a year ago. Interesting exercise. I think a few of these would help.

Haha yeah. Well I like weird colors and it's for a good cause. Plus my truck is already bruised as it is
The bomb thing ended up being BS but I wanted nothing to do with that. You never know what's fake anymore.
It's wishful thinking but I'm not actually serious about carrying a weapon at school. But I'll be damned if I go out without a fight! I have quite a few surprises at home if anyone tries to get in my house

i cranked my front coilovers more. Im beginning to wonder if they're sagging or if they're just not meant for a v8. #650 springs on 2.0s. Im hoping they're just sagging as they ride great still cranked more i just feel like i was at this height few months ago...Just under 40"

What length spring are you running right now? Have you considered going an inch longer to reduce the preload? Definitely don't need 700# springs, but longer 650# springs will make a world of difference!

to be honest i have no idea the length. I bought them used from a guy with a tacoma. Was set at 3" and i had to crank to get 3+ on my set up and cranked again today. Its cranked to piss but rides great. If i could find longer springs i'd be very happy with that just to release some preload. Although it has yet to change the ride quality while cranking it. I just hope to not continually have to crank after few months or ill be replacing them soon.

I took advantage of a local navy bases auto hobby shop. It is a complete garage with almost anything you could need. I needed their lift.
My brother and I changed out the rear pads and rotors which was pretty darn easy.
Next was the removing the XREAS minus the shocks. I need to drive it up to another shop when the King coil overs with reservoirs are finished being built. Apparently neither my brother or I fully understood how a banjo bolt works. We removed the rest of the XREAS and plugged (or so we thought) the banjo bolts back in with the hole running perpendicular exposed so it wouldn't leak. Needless to say, when we lowered the vehicle it looked like an elephants water broke. Quite a few guys in the shop started yelling and I just hung my head. I lifted it back up and we ended up finding some other bolts to plug it up.
Pretty funny after we cleaned up the mess. The truck now drives like a 1970 Cadillac with 250,000 miles and the original shocks!! haha

Cranking them and giving more preload really doesn't change the ride at all, except by shortening the downtravel of the shock. You're basically changing the mounting point of the spring. Since the coil has a linear rate, it will always take 650lbs to compress it one inch, no matter how compressed it is to begin with (or how much preload you have). Some shocks like to be in a particular range of motion but Im pretty sure the sway a ways aren't affected by this. So as long as you can keep the height you want, theres no problem in cranking them more (assuming you don't run out of downtravel)

Put it in the shop for a t-belt / water pump changeout - bo ring!

When I decide on my CO kit, I'm getting 600# or 650# springs in the longest length I can fit to avoid limiting up and down travel. What's the point of coilovers if you can't use em how they were intended?

Sounds good! But I'm gonna get as long of a spring as I can get. I'm looking for 3-4". I'm at like 2.75 now. The front is still lower than the back that just has FJ springs and 1.5" daystar spacers. Can't wait to see how bad it will be with the 3" icon and the 1.5" spacers haha

i think my issue is mine are just an older coilover and springs now sagging some because the v8 over the v6. but i could be wrong. Just wouldnt get swayaway as their springs are super saggy.

Admired the custom silver fade paint job...compliments of the salt trucks. Snowfall of maybe 1/4" last night. I think they put down 1/2" of salt!
Now I know where all our salt was....someone from up north stole it! They didn't put down nearly enough and the snow->slush just refroze (interstates). Side streets were almost all ice and idiots thought they could make it. Sad sad.
Extremely please with my 4Runner and how it handled. All stock and performed wonderfully. After most of the mass exodus died down I went out to see if anyone needed help and was able to help a few. To many idiots betting against the odds and thinking they can make it.
