Installed the FR-S radio
Very clean !!! Any special concerns like trimming or harness's from metra or the like ? Now I gotta blame you if I get one so ... give me the straight dope on it as my son says ?:music:

Troof! I LOVE my HD radio and Pandora compatibility, amongst other things.
Appling force to anything is not the way to make it work. it probably worked when you did that because the camera is tring to get a ground to turn on thru the RCA negative shield since you have a bad ground for the camera. My suspicion is the new radio would do the same thing when you get it in.
As for the ground? the whole vehicle is a ground.
use one of these on the end of the cut wire
and one of these to make your new hole and screw it in , in the back new the jack.
BTW- i am only trying to help since i do this stuff everyday all day. i have these radios in stock and over 35 backup cameras in stock. I do see my share of these radios, and i rarely if ever see a problem like this being a radio.
what would have worked to test, another video source that you could dump into that port. here is a trick so you know next time.
-put dvd movie in
-play movie
-run a rca from video out to camera in
-trigger reverse input
this will test if your camera input works
I suppose we will definitely see when the new head unit arrives. I'll strip it all apart and try your tests to see what happens. If anything, I just got another new head unit

Yeah, HD radio certainly is clearer and better quality, sadly, I use bluetooth streaming more than anything

Yeah no static when you got reception. Hd signal is weaker aka shorter range. It's still the same crap that's on regular radio lol. Now Sirius is the way to go,

I get multiple stations for HD. Like my favorite station, WZLX. They have HD1, which is the HD version of regular programming, then they have the all blues station as WZLX HD2, and a local radio station is on WZLX HD3

Got some maintenance done on the wife's 08'...
Oil, Filter
Changed plugs
Throttle body removed/cleaned
Fluids checked
Forgot to lube driveshaft, though...:doh:
Next it tackling front,rear, x-fer case fluids, transmission drain and fill.
Her Runner is going to hit 100K in about two months, so I got big plans maintenance wise, coming up:
New front brakes, rotors and calipers
Shocks all around
Radiator flush
New hoses, belts and thermostat
Fuel filter
Anything else I should consider??

Also make sure you inspect the cv boots and bands to ensure no leakage
replace the skid plate bolts? (to make removal easier in future with SS ones)
Install a fumoto drain valve? makes future oil changes easy

oil changed, tire rotated and drive shaft lubed. gave my rims a decent cleaning when it was off the truck.

I just said that it was cleaner signal, like I said, I use bluetooth more than anything. I cross under too many bridges/overpasses to use satellite
