Brings back some memories.
I used to live at the bottom of Red Sandstone Rd. right there. We had a trail across the street that went into the national forest. I just love those mountains.

Haven't been on in a while. I finally received a big box about a month ago with my Clazzio seat covers! Took about 14 weeks, but well worth the wait!
I went with black/gray and gray stitching. Even installed the heat elements and modified the center console for the switches. I also finally relocated the DAC button to the middle position. For some reason it bothered me that it was off-center....
The thing I like best about them is that if you didn't know they were aftermarket, you wouldn't. Great fit. I wish the back seats fit a little better, but overall these things are spot on. Will have the seats wired up before the winter.

I see this noted very often and I'm sort of baffled by it. My 147k mile V6 new-to-me 2005 positively LEAPS off the line. I have to actively remember to tickle the go pedal (that sounds dirty) on takeoff.
Is the throttle response everyone keeps mentioning at higher speeds? though I don't find any lag there either. Or is my truck just awesome?

Looks great!! As Momo said, my driver's seat is getting a little worn, but I think I'm a few years away from doing this (unless the small rip in the driver's seat gets any bigger...... rip is like 1/2 in). I would add heated seats to the rear seats.
How long did it take you and did you need any special tools?

It's a 2008 Limited 4X4 V8 with 98k miles, nav, rear entertainment, and X-REAS.
I'm in love, even if it's going in for the timing belt and new fluids next week. I'd like to be the one to put the next 100k+ on it.
Here's the pic from the dealer. I'll take some of my own after I wax it.

Nice looking 4R. Pretty much like mine except the rear entertainment. Found mine in March with 56K on it.

It took me a good few hours. Got a little gunshy after I ripped one of the headrest pieces. (Slightly...Underneath) I also took the seats out and cleaned the carpet and stuff.
They provide you with the pry tool for getting the seatbelt trim and headrest guides through the covers. Otherwise just wrenches for the seats, etc. My hands/arms were seriously tired afterwards.
Follow directions and turn the seat covers inside out if you do it. There are quite a few youtube videos around on how to do it. They can do it MUCH faster than I'd feel comfortable with though...

2 days ago I replaced the front rotors and pads. Still had vibration in the steering wheel while driving and it got worse when braking. Today I replaced the inner and outer tie rods along with the rear rotors and pads. Finally no more vibration but I still need an alignment.
Got my replacement hood scoop in.
Been waiting to pull the old faded one with two front totally rusted nuts/studs until I had it in hand. Was not sure what I would have to do to get those rust locked nuts and studs out of there. Dremel tool with cutoff wheel was ready but not looking forward to that.
I could tell they were locked together and unscrewing from the scoop. Mucho PB blaster onto a mass of rust did not bode well for anything happening. Just an oily mess of rust.
Undid the un-rusted nuts and the hidden center screw. Backed out the rusted nut/studs and pulled the scoop off.
After much sweating (this is Hawaii) and feeling like a monkey making love to a basketball, I managed to work the nuts off the rusted studs without too much drama. Far less than I was mentally dreading.
Now to clean up the hood, swap over the black screen and hood plug, and reassemble. Will use plenty of oil and grease on the stud threads as it looks like water tends to drain down there and rust things.
This truck had been left out a lot in rainy Hilo. Slowly repairing the neglect. Thankfully the mechanical bits of the engine and all seem good. Dealer replaced differential and transfer fluids and the change in engage time for 2Hi-4Hi or 4Hi-4Lo is amazing.
The difference in driving experience between this 4Runner at 72k and our '01 at 76k is amazing. There is a major change in feel between them, as I go back and forth almost daily now.
