I brought 4Runner back home. Too indecisive about buying a new truck. I just can't decide on whether to replace it or wait another 2 years.
Replaced the hood scoop with a factory replacement part. Comes with the studs installed, and correct paint color.
The original owner had left the truck in the rain a lot and water had apparently puddled under the scoop, trickling down the front two studs and rusting them and the nuts into a solid mass. Was leaving rust streaks on the intake cover. Was terrified that the studs would have to be Dremel cutoff removed after they unscrewed from the hood, but copious amounts of Breakfree and grabbing the top of the stud with vice grips got things turning.
Just me, but I cannot tolerate that sort of neglect. Old scoop was badly faded as well.
Anyone wants the old scoop for whatever, it is yours for the postage.

How hard would you say the install was as far asthe wiring for the back up camera? Assuming you installed it near the rear hatch. Just seems like it could be a pain to me. Have mine sitting there for a couple weeks now but am hesitant to install it myself.

It was not terribly difficult but tedious and time consuming. There is a video that helps you with wire routing and and selecting the correct power source (reverse light wire). Check out the video links below.

Got my welder all set up so i can finally get my dual battery box fitted and picked up an ARB 2500 awning. Going to need to fab some mounts for that too!

Got my bi-xenon retro almost finished. Baked the headlights and put them back together. Did a before and after side by side with the sexy new projectors

How long did that take you to do the install from when you pulled the headlights to when you put em back together? I'm gonna try to do mine Friday morning before work in the afternoon

If you've already had your headlights apart, it shouldn't be too bad. I've been taking my time and not rushing anything, but I'm also using my existing ballasts that are already wired up with a relay, so they really are just going to be plug and play. I plan to finish up the bulbs/grommets tonight thanks to [MENTION=50591]gaterose[/MENTION] answering my couple silly questions. I will have more pics and a better writeup done by Friday to add to his writeup, so it's definitely doable. You still have my number if you need to text questions?

I've had em apart before. It should just be a bolt in type deal for me. I have everything else set up
