Did my good deed for the day. Some girl was stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire and they couldn't get one of the lug nuts off, and it started to round off. The tire was already off the bead and sliced by the rim, so there was no chance of using fix a flat. There was a mechanic across the street, so I pulled her car with my tow strap through the busy intersection, to the mechanic so they could remove the lug nut and put the spare on. Because it was FWD, the rim was just spinning on the tire, and all the power went to the drivers side because lol open diff.
And my GF wonders why I keep all my gear with me, all the time
She drives a neon? A flat tire is the least of her worries.

Pulled the crossbars off of my roof rack. They were rattly and unnecessary so with winter approaching it seemed smart to pull them.
Of course, like an idiot, I tried the front, dside cover first, putting 2 little dimples in my sheet metal, despite having a towel under the screwdriver.

Had much better luck on the back ones and got the bars pulled. Would like a time machine to go back and not **** up the front.
Truck is onld and has plenty of little dings and scratches already so I'll just pretend the previous owner did it.

After taking off the roof rack crossbars, one rattle went away but I could still hear something up there.
So, with the moonroof closed, but the slider open, I found I could push up the back of the moonroof quite a bit, enough to recreate the creaks and rattles that I hear from up there over the bumps. How much play should there be in the rear portion of the moonroof? It doesn't leak at all, but is there a way to tighten things up a bit so that it doesn't rattle over bumps?

Mine (2006) will move about 1/8" when pushing up. Just tried it.

Finally got my CB radio setup up and running. If anyone needs to get a RS-720 mount, get it from American Radio Supply. Their customer service is great and I got the right mount (4th one, others from previous vendors).
Ordered my Gobi ladder Tuesday and still haven't gotten a confirmation email and I haven't seen the money taken out of my bank account... well, guess its time to get some pop corn and get used to the wait... :sleepy:
