What did you do with your 4runner today?

Got my DDM 35w 4300k HID bulbs/ballasts in the mail this afternoon and slapped them on. Can't complain for $30.

Got rear ended....

Got rear ended this morning... By a police officer. Damage to the 4Runner mainly at the back bumper and tail pipe. Estimate was $1,055 for repairs. Drop it off tomorrow. Could've been worse.









Other car was Nissan Maxima that had to be towed away.

Peeled off the old Plastidip on all the wheels. That was a pain in the ass. Definitely will be using a can per wheel next time. You could tell where it was sprayed thin as it kept tearing. Luckily i learned that brake cleaner will melt that stuff right ff.

It looks like the 4Runner handled it much better. I had a guy run into my rear bumper and it only broke the reflector and damaged the bumper a little while his front end looked similar to that.

That happened to me last year. Guy in a Mercedes C-Class rear-ended me, his car was totaled. I had a little dent in the tip of my tailpipe and a scratch on my bumper (can't see it unless you look for it).

Sunroof might have just broke. I tried to open it but it was frozen. Now it sits closed a little funny. Before I could get it to close again, there were some awful noises...

That sucks. There is a thread on here somewhere on how to recalibrate/realign the sunroof to get it working again if thats the same issue.

Edit: This is why I love you guys. Sunroof is fixed in less than 5 minutes. The best part... fooo freeeeee.

IF YOU HAVE A CRACKED DASH OR KNOW SOMEBODY THAT DOES YOU NEED TO READ THIS!!!!

There have been a ton of people with the cracks showing up in their dash on the earlier 4th gens. Through a ton of the members calling to open cases we have finally WON!!! Toyota will be sending out letters for people to have their cracked dashes replaced or in my case be reimbursed for paying out of pocket to have it replaced. If you have a cracked dash and have not called to open a case please call the number in the first post of this thread.

I think it is mostly the 03-05 that had the issues with the cracking. Now that they have started these replacements i am sure they will do something

Started on my next project, but it was too cold to install so I finished up the harness and everything. These are going to be back up lights and I'm using an OEM toyota switch.

Bought these RCI skids from forum member @ miller92063......engine, fiiller plate, transmission and A-arm ..they came in yesterday so I had to go pick them up at my father-in-law's shop. Now I need to install these and my sliders!!!

why not just hook them up to a relay and factory wire to trigger them on instead of running wire for a switch? Unless you plan to use them randomly.
