Installed Warn Wiring Harness in 2 hours and 1 second
Have some Warn SDB-160s I took off my 3rd gen and placed them back on my 2009 Limited. Then dug through the garage for 2 hours to find the wiring harness. Oh yea - put back on the 2009. Took me one second to look under the hood and find the wiring already installed.
Next have to pick the right front suspension mod. Probably Radflo 2.5s and the least squeaky UCAs. Right now those are the Light Racing UCAs? Not sure. Not sure of the spring rate either to soak up the bumper and Warn winch. Decisions, decisions. :naughty:
Once I do that - I'll install the Bilstein 5100s - the ToyTec superflex springs and the Firestone airbags I have on deck. Took the air-compressor off my 3rd gen too so I'll install everything at once.

The interior rear-view on the new to me 4Runner had an annoying shake. I pulled from the windshield and disassembled finding a loose nut on the inside. Tightened reassembled and all is good. Taking this apart was pretty simple, by running a small screwdriver down the seam and popping the two pieces apart. The internal electronics aren't secured very well so if you attempt this be very careful.

I'm not sure how many different types of mirrors come on the 4Runner but this is the one I was working with.

Not sure why all the 4runner vs FJ hate going on here, they are very similar vehicles and practically sisters. I own one of both, and they both have their place.
I really like the seats and headroom in the FJ, which are my only complaints on the 4Runner. Aside from that you could substitute them for each other pretty easily.

in all seriousness ive loved FJs, just not purple ones. Would need to be white, silver, army green. Would love the headroom

Its better than spending an hour shoveling 2+ feet of heavy snow.
After 2 scoops I was annoyed so I jumped in, put it into beast mode and muscled through the snow and into the street which made it much easier to clear the snow with the 4runner out of the way. I had a bowl of Ibuprofen O's this morning.
The headroom, seats, factory rear locker, and manual t-case are the tits.
That being said, everything else is better on the 4Runner...definitely the V8.
I got these in from Amazon today and swapped them out with the originals. It's an overcast day so the pics aren't the best.

looks really good over the stock non led lights. looks like the reverse lights are not tinted so thats a nice touch

You should get some chrome coated bulbs to remove the "egg yolk" look in the turn signals.

Thanks, I wanted something that looked good but was still functional.
Great suggestion momo, I hadn't thought about that. I'm planning on moving all lights to LED's so something like this might be the way to go in the future.

those leds are really outdated as far as output levels. all the cheap things you see at like autozone are not what you want. if you swap to led go with quality lights
Mall crawler? I can put 33's and a 1" body lift and it's just as capable as the 4Runner. And BMW's can be pretty reliable and easy to work on.
