I'm a realist... guy doesn't own a 4Runner anymore buuuut to be fair I'd rather he be active on here than some of these other newbies asking about billies fj coils and swingarm poly bushings.
God willing, I'm gonna ignore any more thread questions or requests from people with less than 50 total posts or who haven't been members for at least a month (hoping that in that month they would have actually read something or searched a bit).

i was gonna say exactly what you said to me. he doesnt have a 4runner but that doesnt mean he can't be a contributing member anymore. look at guys like [MENTION=86678]ebg18t[/MENTION] , he sold his 4runner and nobody ripped on him, and he contributes positive information all the time. I'm with you on searching and post restrictions, its something t120 does and it seems to work
for goodness sakes, he bought the closest possible thing to a 4runner without buying a 4runner.

I left the yota family and went back to the German car roots I came from.
Once the Cayenne arrives the wife inherits my 7-10k mile old Touareg, not looking forward to 2 large car payments.

What he said! Same engine, better transfer case, rear locker, ATRAC, 6 speed, backup sensors, and a damn tire carrier finally lol
If ya'll don't want me here, so be it, but that's not the point of having a COMMUNITY...
The car payments are the easy part. The German side of the garage is much more difficult to work on than the Japanese side. IMHO of course.
Yep. But being under warrenty for a while will be nice.

My wife had a '12 Passat and just got a '15 Passat. No problems all.
I am not really worried. I still have two 04 Audis. One is kept at the ski house and the other is the track toy. There are the usual quirks, but goes with the territory.
Why did she get a new one already?

Amazing how well things last when you take care of them...
They are company cars. Out of all the cars she has had the Passats have been the best. A buddy of mine bought her last one when she got the new one. He is in sales as well so he was going to use it as his road car so he doesn't rack up so many miles on his Benz. It had 78k on it and he got it for $7500. We are going to buy this one when it is time for a new one. That is a smoke'n deal, especially since they are completely loaded. The Germans make some really nice cars!

This. I've always been a BMW guy but it's amazing how the electronics start going, slowly at 100k and then snowballing at 150k.
They sure do, my X5 rode/drove much better than my T4R (I know, car v truck), but I've gotta say, working on my T4R is sooooooooo much easier than the X5. I think the Germans figure out all the cool stuff they want to put in their cars and then find a way to cram it all in there without regard to how a mechanic will work on it. Since the Japanese don't try to cram as much in the cars, it seems they spend time designing them to be easier to work on.
My $0.02.
Oh, and I put locking surf racks on my 4Runner. Now I can take more than 1 board to the beach and chose the best one for the conditions. FTMFW!
Back to what I did to my 4runner today....I replaced the boot clamps on the shaft end of my inner front drive shafts because both sides started leaking out of the boots. Seems like this happened in conjunction with the icon install. Is this a normal thing? Had the truck for over 6 months and never leaked, started right after the icons? I haven't cranked them at all, rolling with the as shipped height.
