What did you do with your 4runner today?

It was a nice spring day so I finally took Bessie to the car wash to get off all the salt from the recent multiple snow storms... then did a quick wax. Since I was on a roll I decided to also:

- restore the headlights with a 3M kit
- replace the rear wiper insert with another wiper insert from a 22" wiper which I trimmed... after 11 years on the ORIGINAL blade. I know, I should have done it sooner. Didn't realize how easy it was to do!

Oil and Lube Svc., new Nitto Terra Grappler tires mounted and balanced, replaced sway bar bushings and end links on front and rear, brake line mod, replaced cracked thermostat housing. Did that a few days ago. And, on Thursday, had the cracked windshield replaced.

No more spongy brakes. Handles better. Can see out of windshield now. Smoother ride. Does not seep antifreeze. Good to go for a few more miles. 185k and counting.

Went to the local hardware store to pick up a number of things. Typical of that store, they only had a couple things I needed so only a few 2x4's on the trailer this time.

Not 4Runner related but after this pic, I finally finished the spare tire mount on the trailer.

Part of the Switzerland tail west of boulder. Much harder than the trail damage rating with about 20" of snow along parts. It was really fun though, and a big mix of rocks, snow and mud. We couldn't make the whole loop, as the snow got about thigh high and unbroken so we turned around about 8 miles through it. Normally it's really easy.

Took the Runner to the dealership for an oil change. The customer that pulled up behind me in his stock Runner asked me 3 times if I'd sell it to him. #proudofmycar

thats when you offer to do some wrench work for him to reimburse some mod costs.
