nice spot, but i would mount it the other way, so you can tune the amp and play with the settings more without having to take the seat out. but good job on the wiring.

model # plz i plan to do the same. What did you do for the JBL module behind the head unit. Im guessing just RCA to amp then wire from JBL speaker to new JL amp?
Took the kids to the Twisted Trails Offroad park today!! We had a blast!! My 4runner sure did make some Jeeps look like jokes! :guitar3:

Today: Put a Wheelskinz leather wrap on the steering wheel, installed some Silverstar headlight bulbs, and replaced the map, dome, and cargo lights with LEDs.
Tomorrow: map light mod - connecting it to the dome light wire (no added switch)
After that, I've got a new head unit to install, as well a backup camera which I'll do at the same time. I also picked up some 884 37.5w bulbs that I plan to hack up to replace the dim stock reverse lights.

Used some polishing wheels to clean all the haze and yellow off of my headlights. Applied polyethylene over top so hopefully that'll last a while without them yellowing and hazing again. Wish I had taken before pics.
Also put in super bright LED markers.

Inner fender aprons installed. Got them from toyotapartsoverstock. They sent me two driver side front aprons and it actually fits the front passenger side, just slide it through the front fist then secure it down.
do you hav e apart number or do you remember what category it was under?
Mind if I ask what you used with the polishing wheel? Any sort of compound or cleaner? I just did a quick headlight cleaning as well, wet sanding using some 2500 grit paper and then some polishing compound with my orbital polisher - came out OK but nowhere near as clean as yours.

I used a 1500 grit foam pad drill attachment to take everything down a bit followed by another pad I had lying around that was much finer. Finally I used a plastic polish on a fluffy foam pad. I think most of this came from an old Mothers brand drill bit headlight restoration kit.
Until I got to the final fluffy foam buffer with the plastic polish I just wet sanded, spraying water on with a spray bottle.

I need to do this myself.. good job.
I'll post up a pic or two tomorrow. It came out OK - I've used these on several previous cars and always liked the feel of the leather and the increase in thickness of the wheel. I mistakenly ordered gray for the 4Runner when I should have ordered charcoal or black, but I wasn't in the mood to return it and wait another week for a different color.

This is the guide I used for making my own lense sealer. Wiped on really nice and evenly, so we'll see how it holds up. I've had crap luck with the sealer not lasting on other kits in the past. The drill bit kit didn't even come with one, but does a MUCH better job than the ones you use by hand.

I miss that. We haven't taken the sleds out in years. We just dont get the snow here anymore...
I've got all my parts to replace my stereo except the back up cam. Hopefully it's in today. Life is hard without satellite radio.
Here you go...as I noted in my previous reply, I mistakenly ordered a gray cover instead of the charcoal, but I went ahead and installed it anyway. Took about 45 minutes - and you need to really pull hard on the thread to bring the edges of the wrap together.
I think I kind of like the 'two-tone' look and will probably just leave it. It sure feels better than the stock wheel.
