For the past 2 days I've been trying to peel off the plastidip I sprayed on last fall, I'm going to back to the OEM look (as much as possible).
Here's what I've learned...
-You don't want to spray it on too thin like I did with only 3-4 coats... because it's a real pain in the a$$ to come off... no peeling, more chipping.
[If you're gonna plastidip stuff, use at least 6 coats and make the last 2 coats really thick. This will make it so much easier to remove (it will actually peel in large pieces.]
-For those that made or make the same mistake I did, don't bother with the Dip Dissolver, just go ahead and use Goo Gone, it's cheaper and just as if not more effective, let it sit for 5-10 minutes or so and start working it with our hand, spray some more on and let it sit for another 5-10 minutes... then get a couple old microfiber clothes you don't care about and rub it off.
-Follow up the Goo Gone step immediately with a car wash to get off all the residual.
-After it's washed you can then detail as you desire.
hope this helps others avoid the headache I'm enduring right now.
(the other option is to spray on more plastidip and wait for it to cure then try to peel it off in larger chucks, at this point I am done with plastidip though so opted not to try this method of removal.)
