What did you do with your 4runner today?

Take wheel off, use a hammer and punch if needed, hammer it out, buy new one from parts store, hammer it in. Put wheels back on.
Anti seize and a torque wrench are highly overlooked items when doing tires for some reason.

I don't think I can just hammer out the rear studs... Won't it get stuck in the rotor? How do I get a new one in? I have to check the threads if this is an easy DIY or if I just want to pay someone else to take apart a drum brake.



I think an NTB put this wheel on last, and other shops before that with an impact gun. Torque limiting impacts aren't that expensive these days, big shops should use them.

I haven't looked at the rear, will try to look at mine tomorrow. Wheel studs are really easy generally. There should be a spot that has a small hole for the stud to go through. They aren't threaded, just press in but very tight. You hammer them in and when you torque your nut down they pull the stud in the rest of the way.
Shops should have those, but they don't care really. If I ever take mine in I go around after I get home, loosen each nut and torque it down correctly. 85 ft lbs
