What did you do with your 4runner today?

So I complained to this guy at work about needing 4 jackstands to do my suspension and he said let's just lift the vehicle with the forklift and place it on wooden blocks... anybody think this is a bad idea?

I wouldn't. You're going to need a good 2 feet vertically to have enough room to work on the runner. Even that might not be enough because you're going to get suspension droop and the tires might still be on the ground. Not worth having a 4500 lb hunk of metal falling over.

My buddy actually did his using 2 forklifts, worked fine.

I still wouldn't do it personally, but two forklifts probably would be fine assuming you're on an even surface. That's going to act like a lift with a solid platform.

Lifting up the 4runner and placing it on blocks high enough to get the wheels off the ground is still not a good idea.

Took my 05 out on some trails yesterday. I mounted my drone to the roof to use the gimbal to get a different kind of stabilized footage. In the clip below, the horizon always stays level, while the movement and angle of the truck is much more pronounced.

That's funny, but it works! Now I'm wondering if there are some dash-friendly gimbals. I have a handheld smartphone gimbal (Ikan Fly X3 Plus), and have seen a cool helmet gimbal... always makes great video. Thanks for sharing!

Took the Runner out to Oak Creek, WA. Bought some cheep pumpkins since it was Halloween and they were liquidated. Busted the AR and the Glock out and blew them up... (Responsibly of course) :)

If anyone's in the PNW and wants to hit some trails I'm always down!

That music doh.... Ugh. Lol

Made a stop at the dealer to try and order the little rubber splash guards that go between the engine compartment and the wheel well. They wanted to charge me $203 for a whole new set with fasteners! I will be searching the forum for plans to make my own.

I also had to take a picture of my new setup on the way out. I mounted my new sport hood and Just finished my Icon Stage 2 install yesterday. Just fine tuning the ride height to make it all balanced.

There's someone here selling them. I forget who. I made some templates, but was terrible at getting them out... To damn busy all the time! Ugh

Yesterday I replaced the foam in the seat bottom on my drivers seat. The bolster was pretty beat up from the last owner. Not to bad of a job, but I did get little cuts on my hands from working the seat cover back on the seat. Turned out good.

Bill
Hey Bill, did you order a cushion or make your own? Mine is a bit worn down also from previous owner getting in and out.

Where about in NJ are you? Noticed a lot of NJ guys on here.

I wouldn't do it. Use jack stands. Be safe! Get the right tools!

I'm getting a bigger 3 ton jack and jack stands before the weekend to finally do mine. You should too.
