What did you do with your 4runner today?

Well, I took my baby to the dealer for a state inspection and for them to look at the "shuddering" the tranny is going. It threw a code couple of weeks ago, so hopefully I don't get bent over for this.

Kinda nervous..................

Was quoted $2100 for a new torque converter. Apparently mine is failing. I'm thinking of adding a tube of "anti-shudder" and see what happens.

Not happy.

Ugh, mine's starting to do this between 25-30 when I'm sitting in stop and go traffic. I need to reread through that thread and check my options.

I wouldn't really call it deep because it didn't go over my bumper, but I'm at 105k on the clock so I'm probably due for at least a couple drain and refills. Mine is still currently sporadic and I can't replicate it on purpose.

A quick tire rack search shows plenty of options...

Not sure what "new used" means, but call your local tire shops if you want new or peruse the forums classifieds or your local craigslist to source used.

Just replaced the OEM incandescent turn signal bulbs (7440) in the rears with these "smart" LED's http://www.toyota-4runner.org/inertia-led/211467-toyota-4runner-coupon-code.html . No hyper-flashing, no resistors required. Its fantastic!! Pure plug and play! :thumb: :thumb:

First video below shows the OEM bulb on the right hand side and the InertiaLED on the left. As you can see, the LED is much, much brighter and there is no hyper-flashing (I verified this by just turning on the left hand indicator only as you can see in my next post with the next two videos).

I followed almost the same steps as my wheels. 2 coats self etching primer, 2-3 satin black, then some clear. I'm a bit of a directions-nazi on rattle-can paint (mostly because I'm not an expert by any stretch of imagination, and that's all I have to go on) so some of the dry times called for were 48 hours and I followed that. The only difference this time was in the prep, did some extra things to help with the crap that built up on the bare steel while it sat for too long in the garage.

You should be happy with it. Mine is still holding it's appearance other than the rocks and bolder hit areas..

I'm thinking so. The wheels have held up surprisingly well thus far. After some grip tape on the heavily stepped areas I don't anticipate having to touch up much other than the underside to prevent rust after taking hits from boulders or small rocks kicked up from the tires. Time will tell, but I'm excited in any case.

BTW I'm definitely enjoying your build. Well done.

I think the cell phone picture makes them look a bit more blue than they really are but I have no idea. They were LED's that the previous owner installed, I just wired up the front ones to come on with the rest.

They look perfectly normal to me. Look at the video where I have the LED on the left and OEM incandescent bulb on the right. They are blinking at the same speed. The "turn on" and "turn off" of the LED is faster ofcourse because its instantaneous. But its definitely NOT hyper flashing.

On the way to work yesterday my truck started acting really funny....underpowered and pulling to the right.

2 rear seized calipers and one seized piston in my front left.......WTF? I would put it in reverse, and my truck wouldn't move unless I gassed it. $1700 later I am back on the road. Yes, I could have done it cheaper myself, but I needed my truck ASAP.

I just replaced the rotors/pads/calipers 1.5 yrs ago when I bought my 4Runner!

I'm pretty sure they had been dragging for awhile as my 4Runner feels like I added a few HP and drives super smooth.

I also have Light Racing/SPC sending me some new upper ball joints. I have batch 114 and I think they are on batch 126. I had a little play and they offered to swap them out for free since they are some of the older models prone to fail. Props to them for excellent customer service.

My 4Runner will be new pretty soon.
