I've been having the same problem. I was told it was the evaporator? Big bucks to fix because they need to take out the dash.

Put my worn 5th wheel into the stock spare tire spot. It barely fit but it'll do until I get a tire carrier.
Pretty sure it was the source of rotten smell in my cab.

At 38500 miles I pulled the trigger today and had a set of COOPER AT3's installed.
There was a couple of thousand miles left of the original BRIDGESTONE H/T's, but we're headed West from NJ to Yellowstone and Utah's National Parks in 2 weeks and I didn't want to shop for tires during the trip (5K miles +/-). Once they wear-in, I'll post my thoughts about the investment. The tires, installation and an alignment came out to $744.00 plus tax. (State Tire, Wall, NJ)
I narrowed the choice down to Michelin LTX M/S2 or the AT3's. I planned on the Coopers at first, but checked CONSUMER REPORTS and started considering the Michelins...about $200 more.
The tire guy could get either, but said that he had experience with the AT3 and assured me that they would make me happy!
So far, they are riding as good as the BRIDGESTONES but I have noticed a tiny bit of road noise. I hope that will disappear with a few wear-in miles.
Next week, I'm having the front door windows tinted. It looks like a 20% tint is the best match to the stock rear windows. (Have to get a doctor's note here in NJ.)
In NJ, you have to get a DMV card to be legal. The law is so stupid...the permit is issued to a single driver for a single vehicle. I can get the dermatologist to sign the form for my wife...she has a skin condition. So, if we tint the 4Runner, we can't do her car and vise versa. I guess that people entitled to the medical exemption only ever need to ride in one vehicle and must be the driver. Don't know what might happen if I'm driving the car with her DMV exemption certificate...maybe I have to remove and reinstall the tint depending upon who's driving!
Maybe we should tint her Civic. We can load the luggage in the 4Runner and I'll drive it West with her following in the Civic, protecting her skin!

Question: will it rub?
Planning on doing 2.5' OME lift on my 04 sr5 v6, and a reputable place has suggested using 285/70/17 with Body Mount Chop, also going to upgrade to spc UCA, so since the BMC is to take care of rubbing on frame, my question is will this set up rub on the A-arms at all (stock or spc uca)?

New to the forum, and to my 06 4runner.
I just purchased my first 4Runner and already started buying things to make it mine. One problem I'm not to familiar with Toyota's. First question I have is, where in the forum can I go for stereo advice? I need help with wiring kits and mounts? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

replaced rotors and pads today trying to chase down a vibration. started in the rear and ended at the drivers side front, where low and behold I found a frozen caliper. Really? those calipers are a year old. I live in North Carolina! Not New Hampshire! I thought you guys saying that you replaced your calipers annually were full of shit. Well not I know better.
However, aside from the price I paid to up grade my rotors and pads, I paid nothing for my parts. but I did sweat my balls off.
So I ended up with duralast gold rotors and duralast max pads.
I gotta say. They look really nice and stop wonderfully. But holy crap, they smoke something aweful during bed in.

Try to recharge the system first. It may be the evaporator if it continues to fail, but honestly it's better to try to recharge before going all the way for the home run fix. Just my opinion.

We used Evercoat rubberized undercoat from our local Napa. It adhered better than expected. Never tried plasti dip, although it seems very popular for many applications.

I've used rubber undercoat on a few trucks, it held up pretty good. This is more of a temp thing and if I don't like it I can peel it off, can't decide how to do my center caps though

Changed oil and replaced brake pads...where I realized I have a frozen piston on my right front caliper. Just replaced the left front this past fall for the same reason 
and also I think it's about time for new cv's...I have new ones in the back of my truck just waiting to get them installed since I don't have any time right now

Walked out of the Wal-Mart after what seemed like an eternity. I started walking towards my car and noticed the right rear passenger door looked like it got keyed..... Almost like someone tried to make an R and stopped. So I touch the scratch and think to myself.... What the hell? When did this happen? Who would do this? Why would anyone do this? WTF?!!!...
So I start walking to the rear hatch to load groceries and my remote doesn't work. I round the back of the car and see a sticker on the rear window and realize oh this isn't my car. My 4runner was 5 more spaces over in the same isle. I went from pissed off to histarically laughing in about 15 seconds from start to finish.
