Brought my 4R in to the dealer for it's 1st service and almost lost my sh**
OK. I need some advice and guidance in case this doesn't work out and I have to go to the next level. Purchased an '11 4R Limited with 44K miles from our local Toyota dealer in August (8/14/16). Couldn't be certified because it was originally purchased overseas (military), but checked out at the dealer, and we purchased the Extended "bumper to bumper" Warranty. Brought the vehicle in today for it's first maintenance and was told in the near future I would need to replace the suspension system to the tune of $3500! It has the XRAES suspension system and it is NOT covered under the warranty we purchased. I asked why this wasn't seen when I purchased the vehicle, only when I came to have a routine service check on it. I've only put 5000 miles on it since August and was carpooling the first month of that. The vehicle didn't go from fine to this in 4 months driving 30 miles round trip on the highway in that time. I'm looking for suggestions as to recourse. How long is this suspension system supposed to last (49K seems a little soon?). Also other alternatives that can give a similarly smooth ride. Thanks.

Replaced rear shock bushing. Apparently I missed removing the original washer when I installed my shocks. Might explain why I had so much trouble installing there passenger side vs driver 
Even after hacking the bushing down, it was still tight

In the last week or so, I hit the 125K mark and ran most of the fun Cashes Valley Road north of Atlanta. My grandson took this shot on his phone.
How was that with all the rain? I haven't been since a year and a half ago when I was stock.

Today I also replaced my rear sway bar end links. The old ones also seemed fine, but hey, why the heck not.
In this case, cut off wheel is your friend. Nevermind fighting rusty bolt on parts you no longer need.
Still skinned my finger...

It took them roughly about hour and half. Told me to keep it away from water for 24 - 48 hours.
Yeah i didn't know either. I had actually placed an order for a kit online and cancelled it after a buddy mentioned that he got his done for $30 bucks and it comes with a 5 year warranty. For that price and warranty, i figured why not. Wasn't worth the effort in my book at his price to do it myself
I actually didnt ask how they do it, but im sure they would tell ya if you ask. At this price and warranty, i wasn't too concerned.
