What did you do with your 4runner today?

I add 6, then check, run, settle, top off to midway when oils not warmed up yet. Puts me at about top of full line on dipstick with warm engine/oil. I would say 6.5 with filter is safe but the reason for the variance in response is that it really could vary. It's nice that it doesn't seem to burn any either like my last two vehicles.
 
Well today:
I ripped out the coal filter in the air box.
I debadged/ took all the emblems off.
I cut off the resonator behind the rear wheel and added a straight pipe dump out the side.
I added a flowmaster 40 series muffler.

Thank you gentlemen. Good to hear from reliable sources. I check it regularly, but I will stick to 6.5 for initial fillup
 
SIAP

Anyone know if there's a way to cancel the automatic windows? I just want then to go down while I hold it down, not automatically go all the way down. Always find myself battling with it up, down, up, down, just trying to Crack the window.

Also, any way to disable the rear window down with the remote? I've put it down on accident before.
 
Pick up this rola roof rack with extension for 130.00. I will put it on when I get the low profile mounts and when it get a little warmer.

Did the light bar install in the lower grille. Big thanks to my buddy Jeff who's also a member on this forum he fabbed up some mounts and got it lookin clean. 31" single row led bar.

Yup, those are easy, much easier than the gauges. I added a link back to the long thread that talks about what it takes. LED Swap thread
there are others too that aren't as long.

The only thing I didn't do is the Radio's lights which for me isn't worth the effort to do (I believe some have). I'll just replace it with and after market head unit eventually.

Not sure if there is a perm fix. But what you could do is disconnect the battery, give it a sec, and reconnect. It resets the auto window. You essentially have to recalibrate it for it to work again which is something like opening it all the way and holding the button down, then the reverse. As long as you don't do that it will be disabled.

I assume you know that if you don't push the button all the way down or pull it all the way up, the window stops when you let go, right? That's how I crack my windows at least.
 
I'm about 35 miles away from breaking 100k on my new-to-me '04 SR5 4.0... Stoked to be a part of this community. In the first 2x months of ownership I've gotten to know the caveats of owning one of these beasts, and I'm in love.

Since then I've found a dead mouse in the cup holder, found nests in the cabin air box, found a bug in my fog light relay/switch, and dealt with burning signal bulbs, but have smiled the whole time (mostly) :)

I know that is how it is supposed to work, but the switch on mine is so sloppy it is hard to get it to stop when either opening or closing.
