What did you do with your 4runner today?

I had these in my 05 F-250 and the road noise was so bad my wife could hear me 4 cars back on the hwy.

Besides them being to noisy for you....

What about what they were meant for? I've looked at them and a couple others and was wondering as well.
How did they handle on and off? Probably can only respond to the on part.
Balancing them out?
The wear?
The traction? Rain , snow, etc

Towed a uhaul trailer about 700 miles round trip. Gas mileage was interesting. 1,500 lb trailer empty driving into a strong headwind my worst tank was 8.5 MPG. On the return trip the strong headwind turned into a tailwind. I had 4,500 lbs of steel in the trailer for a total of 6,000 lbs and got 11.5 MPG.

So the headwind made more of a difference on MPG than the weight of the trailer. I was also doing 70 mph empty and 65 mph loaded. That would have a slight affect.

Handle well on and off road took them through some big mud pits. Did well in rain also.
Balancing them sucked they wanted 13oz or more at first. But I know some tricks so I had to pull out all the stops to get them to balance out. The best I got the worst one down too was 6oz witch isn't bad at all.
The toyos I got afterwards only asked for 2oz the most and I left them as is didn't do any tricks to try and make it better.
I've installed these for other people also and always the same story with the balancing on these, different sizes and wheel widths different situations, hot and cold weather always ask for a lot of weight.

Those lexani tires aren't bad either my boy has them in 35s on his duramax and he likes them for the price.

I have only one issue but I don't know what caused it, they have become egg shaped. I run them at ~20psi offroad, 35psi on the road. My rims are slightly bent though, I need new ones, and I use tire beads instead of wheel weights. I rotate regularly, tread wear is perfectly even with no cupping anywhere. Any ideas off the top of your head on what could cause this? It's all 4 tires and makes for some terrible vibration down the road.
I'm thinking of buying a tire and wheel combo set off eBay to replace them, but can't find any deals with the Hankooks. I find federal, toyo, atturo, and passan in different varieties mainly.

The first thing that comes to mind when you say egg shaped is your tires are separated,witch is very dangerous to keep running as the steel cords in the tires are breaking, and air is getting into your caseing causing a bubble/egg shape. Especially if it is visible by eye. Cause if a tire was out of round, it would just cause balancing issues from the get go and not be visible unless on the balance machine.
I'd make a quick pit stop at your local tire shop and just have them check it out make sure your still safe to be driving on those tires. Let's hope I'm wrong but better safe than sorry.

They visually look OK, but if you take them off the truck and they are standing up they'll roll to the low spot everytime. Also had them on a balancer and you could see them jump while rotating. Not sure what happened, but as soon as I can they'll be replaced. I've put 20-30k on them like this.... Lol.
I'm going to be going into tire factory soon to have them siped, I'll see what they say about it.

New Stereo

Installed my new Pioneer touchscreen Bluetooth stereo using the kit from Crutchfield. I also added the phone buttons to the steering wheel. Installation was simple and it sounds amazing!! Even better, everyone complained about the sound quality of the Bluetooth phone in my old 4R. This one, they can't even tell I'm using Bluetooth! Winning!

Well...

Well dudes, it has been about a month since I've driven my T4R since the drunk driver ran into it, but the body shop has repaired it and the insurance claim is finally making headway. I have to say, the body shop did a great job repairing everything even though it was a big job. They said it was at 95% of total loss. Hopefully all the repairs were done well and I will have no more issues. Here's a couple pics of the Cap'n as well as the invoice from the shop.

Valve cover gasket leak ...not a biggie

But it also looks as though your power steering pump below is leaking as well creating a much bigger looking issue

just a lot of tear down but atleast your halfway there already having to do the tear down for the valve cover gasket ...lol think of it as a 2 for 1 deal.
I wasn't so lucky cause when I did my valve cover gasket a couple months later my power steering pump drizzle started. Not cool

No clue man. I thought for sure it was gonna be totaled and I'd be driving around a nice new Dodge Neon! [emoji23] I'm really hoping that the suspension work they did stands up.

Replaced all the wipers, all were less than $2 each from Rock Auto. "Wholesaler closeout" parts, actually Anco and Trico manufactured but packaged as NAPA. That's cheaper than buying just the rubber inserts for OEM Toyota wipers

Finished up my fuse block install and made a video about it. Pretty happy with the results although I still need to get some split loom and clean some of the wires up. But considering it was a budget build, I am pretty happy with the outcome!

Can't really tell the damage done in the prior photos, but it was pretty bad. The ones below are just for fun. Needless to say, the other party's vehicle was probably totaled... check out the second pic.
