Finally finished the spindles. Alighment on Friday!
Treds get strapped down with rock straps and a cable lock. Neoprene wrapped the bars so they don't slide and stay quiet. This has been road tested and works great. That's pretty sweet. What are you using to mount those to the stock racks (the Rotopax in particular). Just straps of some kind?
How long have you been running spacers? Any issues?
I just rebooted both of my axles- screw from the RCI LCA skids will tear into them at full flex. In the process I called a few places that make HD axles to see if I could get whatever they used and they use the OEM on the outer and one used the inner while the other used the red one (I don't remember what it is) on the inner. They said that because it is like a hard plastic they prefer to use them. FYIChanged my right side front axle shaft (tore the boot when I did the lift.) I also installed the inner knuckle seal and the seal in the diff. Went a lot easier than I expected. Almost a piece of cake! Hoping to do the left axle Thursday or Friday. Now I have to find some nice rugged, and maybe longer boots, to rebuild my removed axles for spares. I believe I read somewhere that Tundra boots are heavier and have more stretch and fit our axles. Can't find where I read that. Does anyone have any info on that? Maybe it was Tacomas, not sure. It would be nice to have some extra stretch to help mitigate the strain the lift causes on the axles.
That looks like a good findPurchased a Craigslist Special last night, and hooked her up to bring her home! Homemade steel expedition trailer with RTT. Solid. Good tires. Pulls great. Has brakes, and hope to hook them up soon.
New paint, taller tires, and plenty of stuff to strap to it; All on the way!
I was up at cabin doing some 4 wheeling in the snow. A jeep pulled over to let me get thru a narrow trail. He got stuck and I got to use my winch! He did not have rear diff. lockers, so he could not get out. I did a 45 degree pull with winch and it was a breeze to pull him out.
So the 4Runner has been at the dealership for two days now. They still don't know what is wrong with this puppy. Apparently it is one of the strangest situations that they have ever seen.
Starter is fine. Ignition System is fine. Alarm System is fine. From their understanding, the ECU is not getting enough voltage to trigger the ignition system.
They are suspecting a short or corroded wire somewhere, and are no checking each and every wire. Hopefully it's just a wire and not the ECU itself. Fun times....
:hurt:

OH CRAP!!!:wow2:
Them having to troubleshoot each wire could add up to more in labor than replacing the starter and alternator combined,
I hope not but good luck, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!!
I hope they have check to make sure the ground is good even if it appears to be tight
or at least try and re-ground it in another location just to
make sure it has a good ground, a bad ground wire connection does some funny things
and some people never even think to check it!!
