I did it the lazy way. Left the calipers on. Dremel + sand paper. Sprayed it with 3 coats of Rustoleum engine enamel.

We'll see how long til it peels.

Going to go cheap and easy for a temporary solution with some Amber led strips below the headlights for now. Then, after the shock of this purchase wears off I'm gonna install some 06 headlights. I just couldn't find a way that I really liked for in the bumper.

I still have to do mine, I after reading all the reviews at Comsumer Reports and all other auto publications I could find decide to go with the Sylvania headlight restoration kit, it was the highest rated one and lasts the longest of all the kits before having to do it again!

I looked high and low for this kit locally and had trouble finding one, that was until I found out they don't stock it with all the other kits, it's with/on the display for the Sylvania bulbs.

When your done, post up picks and your thoughts on the Sylvania Kit. I wish I would have found the Sylvania Kit. You cant beat the price and it comes with UV protectant. Also, I noticed a BIG improvement driving at night since I cleaned the headlights.

I will if and when I get around to it, I have had the kit for a couple of months but something more important always comes up when I try and plan to do it.

I've done this kit and it's ok. The one thing I didn't like was that when I followed the instructions the folded aplicator towel left steaks in the coating.

Nothing but I got the tools needed to do something. That counts. No motivation tonight, maybe this weekend.

Cheap floor jack and stands, 2 nice stands, pink Mobil 1 and grease gun, hoping to get rid of the "stop sign clunk." Depressing because not too long ago I did this on stock 3rd gen without lifting it up. More of a gut issue than ground clearance difference. Never get old - there's no future in it.

also changed the oil at 185k (5.5qt in, 4.5qt out) and i greased the drive train with green grease.

New rotors and pads on the front (old ones were warped).

Discovered a frozen caliper on the driver side and replaced that too.

1- More of a gut issue than ground clearance difference.

2- Never get old - there's no future in it.

1- That just means that you need to lift your 4Runner. If you already have, then lift it more.

Gah I need to do this on mine...but then I go offroad again and it gets some pinstriping. Think I'll stick with a layer of wax for the time being lol

Can you provide some information on how you made your white paint look great again? Mine is in serious need of a buff job, I'm just not sure which products, and steps I should take yet. (trying to learn)
