What did you do with your 4runner today?

Not today, but planning for a beach trip
I'm pretty new around here. Planning on taking my stock 07 out to the beach for some camping. I figure it can handle it but want to cover my bases just in case.
Shovel, some wood or maxtrax type aid, snatch strap and shackles. Opinion seems to vary about using the built-in tie downs for recovery- would it be worth it to get something else? Maybe the recovery point group buy on the forum?
We plan on sleeping in the 4runner for now until we can afford something else. Going to try to fit an air mattress or just some padding. Will probably also need to figure out a portable fire pit.
Is there anything not obvious I'm missing?

You may want to think about cleaning the underneath and hitting it with some Fluid Film. It'll protect it from the salt/sand and make it easier to pressure wash crap off the bottom. Maybe take a carpet remnant or two (I'm cheap). I carry a $10 cheap Dollar Store grill but on the beach I prefer my small backpacking grill because the wind is a PITA. Dig a fire pit.

I was getting my new front signals ready, bought new sockets and nice switchback LED bulbs. I bench-tested one and noticed a burning smell and the white LEDs no longer illuminated, pulled the bulb out and found some melting at the base. After performing a continuity test on both sockets I discovered these damn things have a defect, what should have been a ground was actually a positive, shorting out the bulb. Now only the yellow LEDs light up 
I'm waiting for word back from the eBay seller and manufacturer about this situation, I better get reimbursed since the damage was not due to installation error. I've wired the same brand sockets (but different bulb size) the same way and didn't short circuit anything.

Just installed my new Demello off-road three hoop bumper along with the 9500 pound Smitty built winch and replaced the cable with synthetic pods are ordered for the front cutouts and a 30 inch single row light bar:llama:

Nice. Who did you go with for lights? Also, isn't that the 03 to 05 version with the blinkers in the bumper? Great idea about the type of grill! When you say clean the underneath you mean full blown wire brush rust removal or just blast the dirt off before the Fluid Film?

LED interior lights
I received this kit on Wednesday and installed it today. Excellent choice and good value. There were enough LEDs in there to do the running boards as well. One of the LEDs fell into the light housing, so I'll have to retrieve it tomorrow.
To clarify, this kit does not include the vanity or glove box lights.

I mean, heck yeah if you have time, wire wheel it. I just did mine but it's a southern vehicle so very little rust. But in the meantime, just pressure clean the dirt off the undercarriage and spray a layer of FF on before you go.

So, after ten years of faithful service my Optima Yellow Top is finally showing its age. Decided that since I will be replacing it that I may as well go ahead and install dual batteries. I was more than happy with the Optima, however, I am not willing to roll the dice and take my chances with two of them given the lack of positive experiences that saturate the internets these days. After much reading and internal debate I decided to go with the Odyssey 34/78-PC1500DT. They should be a good match for the new winch and lights that are being installed. So today, while I still don't have my 4Runner since it's still at C4Fabrication, I placed orders for batteries and stuff to install it all.
On a side note- Caleb convinced me that I couldn't leave his shop with a new front and rear bumper and still have the beat up Demello Offroad sliders on the 4Runner so I will also be getting some new C4Fab heavy duty sliders too. YAY!

No, its the 03-05 front bumper so the blinkers are in the bumper and I don't have the cash to fork out on Ridged or Baja designs so I go with a company called GG lighting they have lifetime warranty no questions asked and have some pretty nice light bars IMO also have a few sponsored racers running their lights down there in baja area. I have had some in the past really bright, if you're looking to get something they are having a discount code running till Monday "Parking20" they say almost 50% off more like 20% but still.

Gotcha. I am going the other route- didn't want to put blinkers in the bumper so I'm going to eventually put in some 06 headlights. Don't think I've ever heard of GG Lighting. I'll have to look into them. Lots of companies popping up. Probably cause the profit margin is huge. Hmm, maybe I should design some. Haha.

[MENTION=155163]noclue90[/MENTION] not sure what he used, but most use 1 can per wheel. 3-4 coats, start really like 1/2 coat, three and 4 can get thick. Give 10-15 mins between coats.
