how does it run with the new intake? can you let us know? more power? increase in mpg?
People make a much bigger deal out of replacing the headers then it really is. Spent 2.5 hours from jacking it up to driving out. Also no need to remove the studs like everyone says unless they brake. All it did was add 20 minutes of time, and did not make anything easier.

Speaking of roof racks. If you buy a 4Runner without the installed boards, will you have to drill holes into the roof yourself? Or are they there under the black weather sealing (or whatever is up there).
Too soon to tell on mileage. Sounds a little better. Has more of a growl.
Previously installed one on a 5.7 Hemi and it sounded like a dragon under the hood. On the 4Runner it's a lot more subtle.
Power wise? Idk. Hard to tell a gain of only a few horsepower.
I did the amber front marker light replacement. Stayed with OEM 168NA bulbs because of price and mixed reviews on LED brightness (or lack there of). Only the driver's side was out, but did them both for uniformity. Read several helpful threads and posts here with tips to do the driver's side. My meat hooks were too bulky so I just pulled the battery to make it easier. Gave me a chance to do a little cleaning while I was at it.

So after a few days of driving around with the Derale transmission cooler my temps are tremendous. Probably a 30-40 degree difference. Some of it can be attributed to new fluid but I can't even get it to hit 185 so I can test the fan. I was peaking near 200 on flat ground without a tow load. Now the max I've seen is 170. Glad I installed it before loading it up and wished I had flushed the trans sooner. Definitely doing it every 30k.

Replaced an 18 month old frozen caliper. Also did pads, rotors and brake fluid.

I did the upgrade just 2 months ago, it was so refreshing to be able to stop at a dime! Go figure, eh!
I've been getting it ready for the move to Alaska.
Armor, recovery, 1st aid, HD suspension, meticulous maintenance etc etc.
You need to get rid of those ugly wheels. I'll pm you my address.

I have 2 stuck calipers (front and rear) and the other 2 are crusted up with rust. I totally expect for them to be stuck as well. I figure: I'm going to pay big money to replace them, may as well go with the 5thgen brake upgrade. Crazy thing is: my brakes still work fine (for no, but I know they will fail inspection), but I'm 2 months past state inspection, so I should get my ass moving............

I'm thinking about replacing calipers also since I already have it on jackstands and they look pretty crusty. The RR hub won't turn but that could be the E-brake is seized. I haven't fooled around with brake pistons before, is there a method to lubricate them with the caliper on the hub?

Went to o'reillys to get some grease and found some perfect awning mounts for the roof rack for dirt cheap. ARB awning will be here in a few days too so it worked out perfect!
