I installed sound deadener and Focal IS 690toy speakers to the front doors. The Focals add a lot more mid bass compared to stock speakers. They are being powered by my kenwood touchscreen. I'm going to amp them when I have the time to install my 100x4 amp.
should of add some deadener in the speaker opening and behind it also, that should give you a little bit more mid bass. your going to like the sound with an amp hooked up to it. how much did that set costed?

I just finished installing a new head unit... Kenwood with nav, blue tooth, backup camera, HD radio, etc.
Also replaced my cracked taillight.
Also installed three new lighted switches from OTRATTW. Nice swithes but finding the right wires to get the switch lights to work was a little tricky. Also put a lighted dual USB port on my center console.
Time to clean the truck and get ready to head north later this week to see the eclipse!!

I'm in the market for the Kenwood DDX574BH, and I found some good deals on the head unit, however shopping for the steering wheel harness/wiring harness seems to be tough to find good deals on. Where did you purchase your installation equipment from? Also, post up some pics!
No pics, but changed out the rear diff fluid and gave it a quick seafoam treatment. Tried to change the front diff fluid, but the fill plug is seized on hard and I don't want to strip that guy completely just yet. Going to ponder on it for a bit before tackling that bad boy again. Someone please explain to me why they use hex keys for the fronts and traditional bolts for the rears?!

As far as I know, this weekend was the first time the hitch on my 2004 was used - the previous owner never towed anything and the hitch assembly was brand new. Trailer plus load was ~2500 lbs, no issues. :cheers:

Question -- How did you get into the corners and crevices? Were you able to easily remove the bezel or did you just fold up the cloth into a nice tight corner and get in there?

Didn't remove the bezel, just got the cloth into everywhere I could.
If I do take the bezel off one day, I'll polish the plastic until it's as close to perfect as possible then overlay screen protector material to prevent future problems. I think somebody on here has done that.
I just did this. I had to remove the bezel because there was residue on the inside around the reset button from the PO. It was easier than I thought to remove. I ended up having to clay bar the plastic to get it clean but it ended up better than I had hoped.

One of the things about this truck that's been bugging me for a while now is the flap from the front seats has gotten droopy because the elastic that is suppose to hold it tight has failed. Pictures will show what I'm talking about. Anyways, I cut a small slit in the flaps with an xacto knife that's just big enough for a zip tie to fit through and zip tied it to a metal bar i found up under the seat. No more droopy flap [emoji1360]

That IS 690TOY set of 6x9 components cost $230 shipped.
I put a set of 6.5" woofers from a Focal AS3 comp set in my rear doors ($150).
I added a PPI i520.4 (4x100watts at 4 ohm...$109)
Everything sounds great. I'm waiting to get my 10w3 back from JL audio's repair facility. I'm thinking about upgrading to a 10w6 or maybe a 10w6 in JL's HO box.
Edit: Yea, I remembered to put the sound deadener on the rear door's speaker hole but forgot on the fronts. I thought about it after I buttoned everything back up in the front doors.

Mine died in my 2008 V6. I got a used one from eBay from a parted out FJ Cruiser for $75. I installed it the first week or two in April/2017. Codes have been clear ever since.

I had my seats out, so I just wrapped the dead elastic around both mounts. It's pretty tight now. I wish I had done your solution earlier though.

It has had regular upkeep and quite a bit of work done to it timing belt changed 1 time and water pump changed twice, with only 1 owner. I live in Colorado, it is a 4x4 and I'm just looking to see if I'm getting a good price. They want $9900 for it. Please help thanks!

haha, funny thing about you saying that. While I was typing I thought man I am going to get a bunch of likes, then i said to myself. Self, i bet someone will respond back and say it was a lot more than 7, and sure as the heck enough thats what happened. My 4 yr old and 13 yr old are more patient. Well maybe not!
