What did you do with your 4runner today?

2000 4Runner overdrive
Been trying to diagnose overdrive not working properly.
With foot on gas, just cruising, OD won't engage. When I let off of gas, it will engage. Also when I let off gas, I can turn off and on with switch and it works as it should.
Fluid is fresh and within correct level range. It's a supercharged 3.4 with 136k miles.
Any suggestions on what to check? The symptoms makes me think of a vacuum problem, but don't know if that's even in use for OD.

We had our annual Xmas Tree Run!
We had a total of 8 rigs, 4 of which were 4th gens and a 5th gen. We let a few Tacomas tag along for the fun too...

I've done that trail about this time years ago...Awesome country and still so close to the concrete jungle! Looks like you all had a good time!

It was a blast!
drain, flush and refill the PS reservoir. Included taking it off and cleaning it up as the sludge in it made reading the level from outside impossible. Had to figure out a way to clean the inside walls and i ended up using throttle body cleaner and a tube. ANyway, got it cleaned up well and refilled/burped. 08 SR5 V6 4x4 has 167K on it (i go it 7K ago) and I bet this is the first PS service its had.

Got the 4R lifted yesterday and picked it up this morning, turned out a lot bigger than I was hoping for (this is a good thing)
Measurements from ground to center of fender are
Front
31.5 before
38.5 after
Rear
35.5 before
39.5 after
I had to remove my front mud flaps and trim the bulge off the bottom of the fender liner on front left and right
I may run into an issue with hitting the body mount when turning up hill but for now I’ll just take my turns wide and see how that works since I don’t have a cutoff wheel

Crappy cell phone picture, but I installed my SPC Racing UCA's and Bilstein 6112 front shocks! Haven't had a chance to really test them yet (this weekend) but they breezed over my neighborhood's double dip that I use to test suspension. So far, I really like everything!
Just make sure you keep clean grease in that upper ball joint and you'll love them. I found the boots on mine will let water and mud in on hard wheeling days, just pull the retaining rings, wipe it out and pump it full of new grease and they are good to go!
They also make alignment so much easier. My local tire places all suck so they won't mess with custom alignments too much, I just keep tweaking the upper ball joint and taking it back to them within the 30 day alignment warranty window until they are able to lazily get the camber/caster where I want with minimal LCA adjustments.

I finally added some filler pieces to cover up the gaps between my CBI rear bumper and the body. I made templates and cut them out of generic mud flaps.
Totally stealing this idea with the stock bumper. After I removed my mud flaps it just keeps pumping junk back up in between the bumper and the body and into the frame and hitch.

Good to know, thanks! I'm lucky in that we have a really good alignment shop around here. This was their first time doing an alignment with these UCA's and the guy said he LOVED them. He was able to push the wheels all the way out and then get perfect alignment and it was super easy. I can tell you, it tracks perfectly on the freeway at 75 and they feel great around town.
Going out to Borrego this weekend to give them a real test.

$3.05? Here in Illinois, it's $3.08. At least it's not $5 anymore. Those were some dark days at 18MPG.
