This weekend I installed Element Metal Fabrication’s full rear cargo cage system…and guys and gals, this thing is AMAZING!!* First off, Matt (T4R_RA) and his Team did an amazing job in packaging the setup up; I think they can give Amazon some pointers on how one is supposed to package items they sell and especially ones that are fabricated with pride!* Upon opening the package, I noticed how well the parts were individually wrapped and cared for…there was NO denting or marring on any of the pieces and the fact that they also wrapped the hardware well so there was no loose-sounding pieces rolling around, this made for a welcomed smile!*
The instructions at first seemed like I was missing a page or two, but once I read them, it’s a very simple installation and how it becomes rigid and strong once together made for a quick installation…I think it took me about 30 min to complete from start to finish…Using all the existing mounting points made for another surprise and all I can say is I’m ecstatic over how it came out!
I was able to remove loose, and remove the milk-crate I’ve been using to store recovery gear.* The dogs now have the entire floor to do their thing without tripping or falling on items in the back.* HUGE PLUS for those needing all the space the 4runner has available!*
Install was straight-forward, but first, I cleaned the windows and trim the best I could for installation of the cage.* I first installed the driver’s side cage to the window area and then the passenger side…once those are fastened in, the center cage bolts to the side panels and creates a solid backbone of a cage.* Element Fabrication certainly did their homework with this setup as all the pieces look well made, are all powdered-coated the same with no wrinkling, and for how light this cage is, it’s incredible how solid it is once installed…you’re easily able to see out the back and the dogs have been happy not fumbling over all the recovery gear that once stood in their path…
If you all have a desire to make full-use of your rear cargo area without compromising on build quality or showmanship, please consider Element Fabrication’s full cage setup for your 4runner!* They have MANY colors they can powder-coat with all the different textures you can think of…I chose Sandex Black it it allows ample viewing out the rear without interrupting any views out back.
