Switched the blinkers into the amber spot in the headlights.
What parts are needed to do this? I didn't know this was possible in the 03-05 headlight housing.
Took an edible an dug into my interior. Got all 4 doors sound deadened, speakers wired up, meticulously put back together. Replaced the burnt out bulbs in the dash.
Tomorrow I'll pull the seat, run the 9-wire/RCA's and power for the 5 channel amp. Then slam the deck in, an sound deaden the whole cargo area.
I am new from 3rd gen's, have to say I expected less then what I found digging into the interior. In my experience all newer Toyota's (06+) seem to be cheaply assembled with crappy little clips and rattles. Granted the door panels had never been removed, but everything went back together surprisingly firm and rock solid.
i like see some pictures. I'm about to install a new HU, thinking about doing the speakers too. Dynomat sounds like a good idea
My tape deck crapped out (can’t even select it with button or mode on the wheel). This was my only way to jack in my iPhone (basically the only way I listen to music and podcasts).
Going to have to bite the bullet and do the full upgrade.
So it turns out the Panasonic battery in my 2005 4runner, is the original. [emoji33] Rated for 550 CCA and it’s only testing out at 267 CCA. No wonder it’s having trouble in minus double digit mornings.
Replaced with a fat, gold 700 CCA battery from Advanced auto parts. The guy was super helpful and did the install and everything. He complimented my clean and un-crusty engine bay as it made his job quick and easy.
Added the security module on my SR5 so now I have an alarm
OEM Module was $25.00 on ebay.

20180104_120703 by sunpilot1, on FlickrI started the wiring project on my 4th gen Overland Build. My goals in this project are:
Dual battery setup
Install Ham radio and CB radio for communications
Wire the roof rack light bar
Wire camp lights on the roof rack, and an extra camp light in the rear hatch
Rewire the front bumper light bar and halo lights for neater appearance
Make provisions for future Fridge and water pump in cargo area.
This is a fun project, but a little tedious. I'll do a complete write up in my build thread after the project is finished in a week or two. For now, here is what the inside looks like with no trim panels (I removed all the trim and headliner to make the wiring easier)
