What did you do with your 4runner today?

i use the same stuff, but i bought the big tube for the grease gun, best grease to use on all bushing parts.

Installed the SPC 25480 UCAs around Labor Day of 2016 and greased IAW MFR specs. Fast forward to late this Fall and I start hearing a creaking/squeaking noise coming from the driver's side. With a little help from this forum, I highly suspected it was the UCAs making the noise. So...today...while we here in St Louis enjoyed a 65 degree day, I pulled them off, pushed the spacer out and found them void of any grease or, for that matter, any grease residue. Dry as a bone.

I had some Prothane super grease handy and packed it in there as much as possible. In just a few hours I had both sides done and all is quiet again!

Here's a pic of the spacers after about 16 months of service. The heavily scored spacer is the one closest to the steering column. (call it the 'inboard' perhaps)

Expensive day for my 4Runner.

New alternator, idler pulley, tensioner and serp belt. The old girl no longer sounds like a dying cow.

I installed new bilstein 5100s in the rear today. Top shock nut wouldn't come loose so I cut it off. Also, I really wish I had ratcheting wrenches. Had to jack up one side of the axle to compress the shock enough to start the nut otherwise it looked impossible.

Im going pheasant hunting tomorrow so im waiting to do fronts until next weekend when I can go get an alignment after.

Broke a few necks at the ski resort.

Did the sealed transmission service today. Dropped pan, cleaned magnets and replaced filter, flushed 14 quarts through the system. Shifts MUCH better then it use to and I had no issues before. It was just an undeniable change in shifting smoothness. Made me feel better after cursing and burning myself today for something.

Replaced lcd screen and temp control bulbs. Only took about 5 minutes.

Had myself all ready to go for my FJ/5100 lift, springs were due here today an 5100's came last week. Somewhere between Summit and MOOG, the ball got dropped. Moog took their sweet ass time to say springs were back ordered, so I got the notice this morning no springs.

Scrambled and found some locally an got it price matched of sorts so the cost increase was minimal. Think I'm paying $150-$160 now for both sets instead of $130 with freight, but I'll be doing my lift today and tomorrow. Alignment Thursday, SCS wheels get mounted Friday.
