What did you do with your 4runner today?

Before heading back to Houston I installed these goodies at my friends place in Asheville.

That's sweet. Do you have the model number and can you let us know where you got it from?

Finally found a warm day here in Maine that was above freezing to give my recently purchased 2004 SR5 a bath and tackle a few maintenance items. Fresh Mobile 1 synthetic oil, Fram ultra synthetic oil filter, air filter, wiper blades, JVC head unit, and JVC speakers. Loving it so far.

- Washed all the salt off it (still have to break out the pressure washer to get the wheel wells and undercarriage)

- Had four new Kumho Crugen HT51 tires mounted - just needed a good all-season tire as my T4R spends very little time off pavement. These tires got great reviews on all the online tire sites, so took a chance with them. So far so good, but only as I pile up the miles will I know if they were a good choice.

- Have to pick up some rear brake pads and hope to install those next weekend

I put a set of these in the 4Runner.

LED Headlights

So far they're pretty nice. No on-road at night experience yet, but I like the color difference so far, no pattern change thanks to the stock projector, and the cutoff looks identical to stock.

Nice knob.....Lol.

Link for where you got it?

I would hold off on getting it. The fitment is too low so you can’t shift past 4. I didn’t realize it til I was going down hill today. Might need to modify it or get an older one. This is meant for 5th gen...

Got my alignment all squared away. Answered an important question that remained for me, I had wondered if I messed up not getting aftermarket UCA with my lift. My front end came up 5.5" from stock (160k stock stuff) to current. I got the truck sitting level within 1/16" with drivers side spacers.

38.625 from ground to fender up front, 38.875 rear.

Alignment was a success with stock UCA. Drives awesome with the new suspension, it is firm, but the abrupt stiffness of bumps is absorbed really smooth when necessary and doesn't phase vehicle direction or road manners. With my stock stuff, potholes and patched holes use to send me all over the place.

-Bilstein 5100 front an rear
-Autozone FJ front springs, CE(insert moog part #), came labeled driver side spring
-Rear FJ moog springs from Rock Auto, unmodified spring ends, both seated just fine on the axle perch
-OME 3/8" driver side spacer, 10mm OME stacker rear spacer
-Sitting at the 1.75 front perch
-Stock bumpers/weight, 4x4, V6 on 265/70/17 Duratrac's.

I'd add it to the FJ spring monologue but it wasn't on the first two pages when I looked last night.

Picked up a u bolt from tractor supply that I’m using as extra security to prevent my hi lift from being stolen. Not only would you need a socket set to remove it but the only convenient access to the u bolt is from standing inside the car on the passenger side with the door open. I don’t have running boards or sliders so there’s nothing externally to stand on.
There’s just a small rattle left now and that should be resolved by putting a rag or the neoprene cover on the moving portion of the jack. I’m so happy I managed to find a way to mount my shovel and jack on the stock roof rack cross bars

Did an oil change and filter change in my 16 degree garage today, that part was miserable. I used penzoil platinum full synthetic and a wix xp filter. Didn’t have enough oil so I had to reuse a few quarts of the old synthetic oil (deep brown but not black so it wasn’t completely bad) because of this However I will do another oil and filter change in 3k miles or so and I’ll make sure I have more than enough oil

Fixed the annoying as hell noise from my passenger seat. I saw this thread a long time ago but when I went back and reread it today, I realized that somehow I had missed how easy the greasing part of it is. I hit the ends of the crossbar with some spray lithium grease this afternoon then tilted the seat back all the forward and back a couple of times. We went out tonight and no more noise from the passenger seat (it only made noise when occupied).

My only regret was in not realizing how simple that part was about a year ago.

Removed the old rear window weatherstripping and installed new. Took less than 5 minutes taking my time. Looks better and the window is quieter. The old weatherstripping was cracked, hard, and shrunk.

One of the first things i did to mine back in September. It made a lot of difference.

Pinion seal and a rear wheel inner seal.
Pinion flange will likely need replacing as it had a groove as well as the axle race or whatever you call what the seal runs on. Hopefully the cheap fix with seals keeps it from leaking for awhile.
Rear emergency brake drum bits on discs are a pain to reinstall, but it'll be easier next time around.

Modified my drawers a slight bit by adding another drawer inside of my drawer for tools lol

Did a quick (2.5 hours) complete wash, clay bar, paint correction, paint sealer. First time I've seen it clean, Millenium Silver. Saw lot's of tiny paint smudges and imperfections. Orbital and Griot's correcting creme took care of 95% of anything imperfect on it. Came out VERY nice for minimal effort.

Got a random dude off Craigslist offer to buy my cargo cover if I had one, as I was selling a few other stock parts. He offered $150 so I let it go as I don't really care about it lol.

Lastly, just ordered Aisin water pump, Stant metal thermostat an housing, OEM radiator cap, Denso radiator, upper and lower hoses, zinc slotted rotors an power stop ceramic pads/hardware, an OEM rear wiper blade. Everything with shipping was $415.
