Well, yesterday, but....

Since one of the RAS sensors broke,decided to do the coil conversion. Wanted to do the front lift and XREAS delete, too, but work intervened for a few hours.

Hopefully get the 5100's in there next weekend and figure out what tires I'm going with for winter...

Wife was out of town this weekend so I hit it hard and got a bunch of stuff done.
-Oil change with Toyota filter and Royal Purple 5w30.
-Power steering flush using Royal Purple ATF.
-Front and rear differential and transfer case change with Royal Purple 75W-90.
-Tapped and replaced all skid plate bolts.
-Installed new Hella Supertone horns.
-Put in replacement backup camera.
-Installed CBI ditch light brackets with Rigid Hyperspots.
-Ran new harness for future Rigid 10” bar in the hood scoop.
-Installed switches for spot lights and light bar for ch4x4.
-Setup new work bench in garage.
-Received last bit of parts for future re-spray of entire vehicle. Going with the same color but a much better clear coat. Previous owner did a number on the paint and the clear coat is rough. New bumper, Sport hood and scoop, new grill, new headlights and misc trim pieces. All OEM.

I would love to hear your input. what didn't you like about the BFG KOs. I was about to get the BFG KO2 but the tire shop was having a sale so i went with the falkens.

But why are the Falkens better then the BFG? Just curious to hear your input.

The compound seems to be a little softer. Whenever it rained i felt like i was driving in ice with those KOs. The Falkens just seem to ride better in dry and wet

I’ve had mine for about 4k and they're awesome. I did come from an E load MT to passenger Falkens, so for me it was a drastic difference.

Installed my [MENTION=28464]eimkeith[/MENTION] PCK, nice and level back there now. Also installed Icon 2.5 w remote resis and adjusters in the back. Much better ride than my 5100’s.

Drivers side headlight randomly decided to get condensation inside it a few days ago. Wasn't triggered by a rainstorm as we've had plenty of those since I built these lights.. Been too rainy and overcast for them to dry out all the way though so Ive been driving around for 3 days with a water fogged headlight. Installed 2 round goretex breather patches that didn't do anything...
Ordered rear seal caps, more goretex patches and some silica packs from TRS. If that doesn't solve it Ill probably try sealing with silicone before my last resort which will be pulling the light, baking it open and completely removing all butyl rubber and reapply new stuff. Im REALLY hoping it doesn't come to that..

It's a lot easier than I thought it was. Mine sat for a few weeks until I got some free time. Here's a slightly better picture.

EDIT: I also did something to my Ray 10's, see who can spot the difference.

weird, Mine actually did exactly this yesturday randomly. Without rain or anything on the same side. I pulled both bulbs, put the wet dry vac hose up to it for a few minutes at the bulb port.. This also lets you listen or feel or leaks. then left the bulbs out over night and its dried out. I saw water in the crease at the very bottom front edge of the headlight. So far its been dry.

Finally installed the GTA Car Kits Pure Bluetooth module for my stereo. What a difference that makes! In the process, I pulled out and cleaned most of the center console. I was going to install some new USB power ports, but I really just ran out of time, so that will happen soon.

Evap Core Replacement

I just finished the dreaded evap core replacement by myself! It took around 5 days on/off during school. I am trying to get my 15 posts because I would LOVE to do a real write-up on it because right now there is none. I have taken over 100 pictures while taking it apart and I feel if I had the info beforehand, it would have been a lot easier/better.

Today I started chipping away at the scale on the frame. Tried a scotch bright type wheel on my air grinder first, then tried sand blaster (too messy) and finally went to my air needle scaler. The last worked best plus tapping around with a pointed hammer. So far only have one 1" x 2" rust hole that looked fine from the outside. hwell:

Can you tell me a little more about the setup you have for that change compartment to the left of the shifter? Looks pretty cool and I've been trying to figure out what to do with mine because I hate having mine open whenever I want to access my cigarette lighter to charge phone.

Also, where are those switches from? I wanted OEM looking ones and was gonna order some from Air On Board but my OCD kicked in. I started telling myself why would my switch have a dual row light bar icon when my light bar is only single row lolll.

Had some good fortune in what could have been a real PITA situation. My truck had a Toyota True-2 battery in it when we bought it in 2014. Just checked the service records and it was installed in November 2013 at 84,700 miles (I'm at 163,400 now). It died yesterday while I was 300+ miles from home on a business trip in Brunswick, GA. My first bit of luck was that it didn't choose 7am that morning to fail while I was watching the sunrise at Driftwood Beach on Jekyll Island, 30 minutes from the hotel. (The sunrise was amazing.)

I noticed a kind of hiccup when starting the truck after my meeting that day and discovered back at the hotel that the battery was done for (just clicking and that funny "Your battery is toast" wave from the rear wiper). Did some research here and elsewhere and considered other options, but the OEM battery has been a champ and fortunately, my hotel was 5 minutes from I-95 Toyota. Going there was easiest given the circumstances plus I found a coupon online good for a new True-2 for $99.95.

Tried it again when leaving for the dealer but nothing, so I got out my DBPower portable jumper (those things are golden btw). Decided to turn the key one last time before jumping and it went "click, click, click..." and then started, but the way a mower does when it barely has enough gas to turn over. It was almost like the battery knew I was headed to the dealer and gave one last gasp for the team.

Dealers take some heat, often with good reason, but I have to compliment I-95 Toyota and their service advisor, Shawn. I showed up with no appointment and was out 45 minutes later with a new battery and no BS or shady antics.

If anybody else wants a new OEM battery, the coupon is here and is valid through 31Aug19 at Toyota dealers in AL, FL, GA, SC & NC (not sure whether other states have their own coupons, those are the places listed on this one).

Tried to do my rear diff breather mod today, pulled out the old breather and couldn’t get the new one to thread in so I looked at the old breather and found mashed and stripped threads... yippie
Funny thing is I didn’t even struggle to get the old Breather out... so for the day I’m abandoning that project and out the stripped breather back in and I’ll have to tackle that some other time

Just thought I'd drop a line here following up my post about the PCK install I did a few days ago. I was skeptical about the kit to be honest, I didn't think it would make much difference.

Ever since I lifted my 4R, I've had this weird floating feeling when driving over bumps on the highway. It seemed like the ass would take a second too long to settle down. I figured it was part of changing the geometry of the truck and I'd have to live with it. I've had the kit on for a few days now and have had the chance to do some highway driving.

What a difference this kit made. Such an easy solution to the floating feeling in my rig. She feels much better hitting those bumps on the highway now. The kit fit great, no grinding or modification needed, just cleaned up the bevel for welding. It was an easy install even for a relatively new self taught welder such as myself. If you guys are on the fence about it I'd recommend it. I only run Toytec 2" superflexes in the rear and my kit fit on the top of two available holes to have the panhard sit even.
