All it takes is a cardboard, measuring tape and either cut it yourself or some shop with a plasma cutter. It took me 2-3 hours to cut it with a disc grinder.

2008 Rims for Sale

Please forgive me if I am posting in the wrong place. I am new to the forum. If you can redirect me to the right place, I appreciate it.

I replaced my near-perfect ORIGINAL rims (2008 4Runner) with new (black) ones and want to get these out of my garage.

If there's a place to sell these for a reasonable price, I'm down.

Thats how thick 50 bucks aluminium sheet cut to fit looks like. Not a rock crawling armor by any means but a great protection from mud rushing in to a rad and condenser during mud bogging

Today I welded a patch on the frame and new hanger point for the rear gas tank strap the turned to dust.

Biggest recommendation for the front diff is to make sure you can get the fill plug out before you pull the drain plug.

Once the plugs are out it's a 5 minute job with a hand pump.

And for the CVs, I always just jack the truck up to the point where it's at a decent angle. That way fluid doesn't spill out.

Thanks for the head's up. Everything I read only mentioned a dribble that would require a topping off. Based on the amount that got on my garage floor, I'd say over half drained out.

I guess next time step 1 will be to check the fill plug. Don't even start if I can't get that free.

Do you drain the fluid through the drain plug AND siphon out the residual? Or do you just extract everything through the fill plug?

I just drained everything out of the drain plug, sealed it up, and refilled it. It was level when I drained it, so I figured most that needed to get out got out.

Got around to replacing my passenger side cv axle (drivers done last month). This one went much quicker being the second time, after I took it for a shake down in 4low center diff engaged and all my drive line chatter is gone.:thumb:

Just got done retrofitting a 3rd gen 4Runner factory E-locker into my 4th gen rear axle. Got alot of goodies to go along with it:

What CB did you install?

Just a Cobra 19 DX IV with a 4' fiberglass antenna that I got from a buddy for cheap. Nothing special, but it's nice offroad and makes interstate trips more interesting. I've had it installed for a bit powered by 12v adapter. Just now hardwired it in.
