Got it all cleaned up and painted and put back on with the light bar setup.

Much better than the last photo! I like that you didn't go black, the contrast is really good!

Bought my 2003 4R Limited 4wd V8 on Wednesday.

Stripped off the bug deflector, removed the hood insulation, removed the running boards and cleaned the headlights and fog light lenses.

Sourced 2017 rear Tacoma shocks and 2019 front Tacoma shocks with springs locally yesterday to replace the crapped out XREAS suspension.

Started replacing it all today. Completed the front, along with removing the front swaybar and then hit a snag on the rear when I discovered I had the wrong Energy Suspension bushings for the shocks. Couldn't find anything local for those so ordered up a set, along with new FJ rear springs from Rock Auto. Those will be here Tuesday and Wednesday. In the meantime, I'm going to get a set of cheap rear 4R shocks from Autozone so I can drive the truck.

Here's all that I have removed from the XREAS so far, minus the rear Billie shock.

Finally crossed the 70k mile mark on the odo...wow...for only having put 50k miles on this beast over the last 7 years, I'm sure glad she's still a looker and still incredibly reliable! I'm pretty sure that this rig will be our 3 yr old's first one too...Thank you Toyota!

Rebuilt the ICON front remote-resi setup and threw in some freshly rebuilt Toyota OEM CV axles as they started throwing grease after being lifted that last few years...Should be good for at least another 50k miles! I also threw in something I never realized as needed...one of TIN's 3D-Printed cup holders...man oh man...it works...like WAY better then OEM...haha Cheers to everyone's new year!

Finished up the suspension work today, used some cheap Gabriel shocks on the rear to hold me over until I get the FJ springs and the proper bushings for the Bilstein shocks. XREAS is completely removed now. Gained about 3" of lift from where the collapsed suspension was sitting when I got the truck.

All this is going to the recycler at some point.

Here is the before with the XREAS still on. Notice how low the front was riding.

Here is after with just about 3" of lift on the front from where it was sitting.

hey new here had my 4 runner about 8 months , 03 v8 sr5 and this weekend I lifted it 3” and put 33” coopers on it. Turned out great, but anyways today I cleaned her out and cleaned that grease and grime off the body and fenders and rims that came with me touching everything when I lifted it lol

Lift is a 3/1.5 and was bought from Burtman Industires—highly recommend using this guy he’s great and so are his prices

Tires are 33x12.5 r17

Rims are 5th gen sr5 wheels

Love these wheels on 4th gens!
