Got new rims



Haven’t decided which one to go with though.

I don’t think I’ve seen these taco wheels on a 4runner before. The volks are nice as well. Seems like whichever direction you go, you can’t go wrong!

I debadged and rebadged my 4runner haha...

I was concerned that when I debadged I would have paint fade, and I was right. It wasn't until I parked the truck out in the daylight tthat I could read Toyota and 4runner clear as day in the paint. So I did the next best thing and blacked them out with John Deere Blitz Black paint (the same as I used to black out my grille and valances).

I used 1/4" 3M double sided sticky tape to affix them back on the truck. I'm the fleet manager and lead tech for a limousine company (we use this for rope lights)... so this ended up being totally free. Id rather be debadged but I think this is a close 2nd.

Got the ditch lights wired up and also I’m now ready for anything else I add in the future. The two larger terminals that are left will go to a power inverter and amplifier in the future. The relays are mounted underneath the tray for a clean look.

Tried a polish. The basecoat on the entire car is sun faded. It became an issue when I painted the hood and front bumper too.

You will like that radio. And the kenwood KFCXP6902 speakers are a great direct replacement.

I ended up getting JBL Club 6.5 components int he front and JBL Concert 521s 5.25 in the back. Right now hooking to the stock connectors but gonna do a amp later on.

Alos ordered a bunch of Leds for all over and looking into switching the headlights to a projector for HID use.

Found a fab shop that can weld up the rusty rad support so gonna call them soon.

Changed out the wheels finally. I picked up a set of 2003 Sequoia wheels off Craigslist for $150. They aren't perfect, a little rash on one and some chipped paint but they are much better than the fugly stock rims IMO. Little better offset too, they stick out a little further then the other ones.

I got the gooey crap off the rear hatch switch and installed a nice new rubber cover in its place!

Changed out the wheels finally. I picked up a set of 2003 Sequoia wheels off Craigslist for $150. They aren't perfect, a little rash on one and some chipped paint but they are much better than the fugly stock rims IMO. Little better offset too, they stick out a little further then the other ones.

That looks pretty nice! I've noticed the rims on my 4Runner are getting flakey with patches of paint missing

Well I had big plans for today and it didn't as planned... Eyes were bigger then my stomach I guess mixed with rusty bolts and 3 herniated discs.

Anyway got the front sway bar bushings replaced with Prothane bushings.

Front sway bar links replaced with Moog. What fun they were.

2 rusty screws on the license plate lights have prevented led in there for now.

LOL well I had planned to do the axles and struts/shocks but 16 years of rust on original parts proved to be to much for just hand tools.

I was gonna tackle the rear bushings and sway bar links but only had about hour of light left and due to my neck I take my time. The front links were very rusty and had to clamp with a visegrip. Even with heat the bolts needed a lot of my strength to get them off. Didn't feel like getting into the back today.

already a huge difference in how its driving though.

I put everything back together did the PCV and was gonna replace the plugs but the screws for the passenger side ignition coils were rusty and gonna strip so I have to find my twist sockets for get them off.

Oh I also cleaned the throttle body.

I had also planned on changing some of the fluids today. I think the power steering fluid is original or was replaced with power steering fluid not Dexron and there's a bit of pump whine. I hope that goes away when I change it.
