I finally got around to installing a 37" Light Bar in my lower grill opening, and painting the lower portion of bumper under the grill black.

I'm a few weeks in myself and doing everything I can until I get it on the road. Its no 18 Honda pilot lmao Although believe it or not even with all the worn out suspension components this thing had a nicer ride then my new car!

Working on them is fun... JK I'm remembering why I hate cars! lol I went a got a compressor but if I had a lift it would be easier for sure.

I filled the tank on the trip home so wont be doing it yet! and yeah torch near gas is going to be interesting but id rather not break any bolts!

When I was heating up the bolt on the last sway bar link I held it there so long that the gas tank skid plate was getting hot! oops lol

Be careful when removing those straps. My rear strap also broke and my tank cover was swiss cheese so it went into the trash. The bolt for the outer strap on mine ripped off the frame mounting point when trying to remove it. I ended up having to weld on a new mounting point as the old was so thin from rust. You also need to be gentle with the pin on the inside as that hanger can be pretty soft. Lots of penetrant and gentleness got it out on my truck. I still need to do the front one but that one looks like child's play compared to the rear one.

As far as todayI plugged in my newly wire up radio to see if everything was working as it should.. didn't catch on fire so I suppose that's a good sign

Today I recovered the lower part of my driver's seat and used upholstery paint to paint the seatback portion. Did the passenger side yesterday. Made a huge difference in the appearance of the interior. I just bought this T4R about a month ago and it had the synthetic leather on it and the bottoms were in horrible shape. Now next up: hope to get the Daystar 2.5/1.5 and put it on within the next week or so.

finished wiring and tested the new fuel tank using the relocation kit from eimkeith. Time to see if I can hit 600mi range.

I got one, of the Victory rear window molle panels in yesterday, then said, "What the heck, just get the other one" LOL
so the second one should be here next week. Will install the first one this weekend and get some of my stuff out of a bag lol.

Well I was going to install the molle panel from [MENTION=320865]Victory 4x4[/MENTION] but just like my luck, they sent me the wrong one. They sent a 5th gen panel, Im hoping the one thats already on its way, is the correct item. Really SUX, when a company ships the WRONG item.

Recovering seats

Sorry for the late response. If you did go ahead and do your passenger seat today this probably won't help much but in case you didn't... It's really not that bad. I had removed the passenger lower one on mine a couple of weeks ago only to find that the place had sent me the wrong ones. So I reinstalled that one minus the hog rings. But that experience helped me some when I did them this week. I fought with removing the hog rings the first time because I didn't know to unhook the outsides of the covers from the frame completely and basically turn them inside out to gain access to the hog rings. Then putting it back together it's better to start with the center section that goes from side to side and secure it with the rings. Then do the rings along both sides. Oh, almost forgot. If you unhook the covers from the seat frame the whole lower cushion will come off and you can work on it much more easily. Lastly, after all the hog rings are in place it's just a matter of having the hand strength to stretch the material enough to get the sides hooked back onto the frame. I was lucky in that regard since I'm an auto tech teacher I got one of my students, who's a pretty stout guy to do that part for me. Lucky for me since I have fairly serious arthritis in both of my hands. Also, across the lower front on my covers there was channel to attach it to the seat but on my old covers it wasn't connected, (also not connected on my Tundra) so I didn't bother to try to connect it there. All in all not too bad and they look really nice. One more thing. The seat backs on mine were worn some but not bad enough to warrant replacing them so I simply painted them with automotive upholstery paint.
Also just remembered this: when you are removing the old hog rings you will need a good pair of wire cutters to cut them. The first time I started on the passenger seat I didn't have a good pair and in the process of trying to twist them off one of the little rods they connect to ripped out of the foam and I had to do a makeshift repair involving welding wire and a little flat piece of metal to secure it back down. Otherwise the cover wouldn't have been pulled down properly and it would have looked pretty bad. Sorry for being so wordy. Hope this helps some and you have the same results as I did.

Cleaned the MAF Sensor and throttle body (front & back). The front side of the throttle body needed a little cleaning, while the back side was pretty filthy. The 4Runner was running good before, but it definitely runs better now!

Starting the hunt for new tires... extremely torn on tire size between 285, 295 and 315... I also want a 1.5" BL with the tires but Im not sure how that would look if I went with a 285 tire..
Does anybody have any input or experience with the procomp xtreme mt2 tires?
FWIW At this point in my schooling, my runner is mostly just a commuter, I don't really get offroad at all anymore

Spent the weekend updating my new to me 04 Limited.

1st up was the dash....... Looked horrible.

Coverlay installed :nod:

Stereo was next, cd player was broken and cassettes are so 1980s.

New one has apple car play, dvd, player etc. Installed the PAC module to keep the factory amp and to keep the steering wheel controls.

Also, installed two back up cameras. One low to see when hooking up my boat and one that can quickly go on top of the spoiler to see my boat when backing up or keeping my eye on the boat when going down the road.

The factory subwoofer was also turning to dust. Replaced it with a pioneer and added contained under the seat amp also.

Added some built in usb chargers

Sounds awesome and feels 16 years newer.

More cursing, More rust, Pretty sure the LCA on the passenger side is frozen which made it fun to get the new strut in.

So got just the passenger side strut done, and finally got the last sway bar done...I'm starting to hate this truck! lol

Ordered a K and N filter off eBay for $17!

Started early but other things came up so had to stop here and there and again RUST!!!!
