Replaced the drivers headlamp today. Passenger was replaced over a year ago, and it’s been bugging me having one foggy/yellow headlight. Ordered a TYC from RockAuto. As addressed, first 3 screws were a breeze, and that 4th is a b!tch. Ended up removing the screws and pulling the fender liner all the way back to gain access. Once removed the 10mm fit right up in there, just barely. I did not replace that bolt as it’s a tight fit and the other 3 screws plus the corner that snaps in holds it in TIGHT! also, replaced the marker lights while it was out.

2004 v8 runner did the transmission fluid replace, transfer case fluid , front and rear diff fluids, lined prop shaft, clean up and lubed diff breathers, and new air filternext up, spark plugs, throttle body service , cabin filter , wiper blades, pcv, brake fluid flush, power steering fluid flush , timing belt and water pump am I missing anything ??
arty: It's gonna be as good as new... Probably should flush coolant too while doing the timing belt to get the stuff out of the block.

So back apart she went and I STACKED the 15mm INSIDE the 1.5" and placed it on top of the isolator. This worked perfectly, I'm now finally level in the rear lol.
It was tons of run trying to create enough clearance to shove that monstrosity in. :bash:
Man I envy how rust free it is under there.

Too friggin hot...lol. I don't think my wife would want to go either and I kinda like her. I just wish they'd skip the salt and let the people learn to drive like 30 years ago. Oh well, I'll stop whining now.
I replaced the climate control bulbs with T3 neowedge, also did the glove box (didn’t know there was bulb in there) cup holder (didn’t know there was one there either) and gear selector with #74 from VLEDs.com and then I learned about all the other lights that are burnt out so I ordered a bunch more T3 and a T4 for the 4WD selector. Ordered the T4 for the 4WD selector from VLEDs.com and the two T4 for the climate control display from autoluminarion.com to get everything back to working.
Lastly, I installed some 7440s from @Lasfit and HOLY COW. Those things are really really bright. No one will ever be able to say they didn’t see my blinker. Even distracted drivers will see it. Haha

I have a question regarding this. Do the dials have lights on them, other than when they are activated? Meaning, when the fan is not on, is that "dial" supposed to be illuminated in some way? because mine are not, unless you actually have it on.

Are you talking about the white letter back ground or the orange triangle indicator? When your headlights are on, the knobs should be (stock) orange. and triangle indicators light up when that mode is selected. Your bulbs are probably blown

Hi Pedro, Sparky has this right. With the headlights on, the text on the push button 'dials' should be back lit. The little arrow indicator lights are independent of the back light on the buttons. Hope this helps.

Replaced the rear window weather strip. 2 minute job. Funny thing is this one lasted 14 years and my work vehicle (2016 Ford Explorer) has the exact same issue.

More LED lighting upgrades and fixes. Put some 194s from @LASFIT in the doors and map lights and wow did that make a huge difference. Everything was so dim before. Now I can actually see things at night.
I really like LASFIT lighting so far. They seem like good quality, long term testing will tell the true quality though. I’ve been down the road of super cheap LEDs before and I won’t waste my money going down that road again. I’m okay paying more for something better.
I tried installing some LASFIT 3175 (31mm festoon) LEDs in the dome and cargo area but they ended up being too big. LASFITs site (vehicle bulb finder) said this was the correct size. I referenced the Sylvania website and it said the same thing but I’m wondering if a 3022 (28mm festoon) would fit. After reading some of the other LED threads it seems some people have installed 30mm festoon. Difference between 31mm and 28mm is almost 1/8”. Not sure if that is too much the opposite direction.
