What did you do with your 4runner today?

As originalg00kster said, they give you paper strip that you tape to the spoiler, then mock it up to where you you feel is perfect and tape down the strip to the lift gate and lift the spoiler off. I did it by myself, but it would've been handy to have a second person. As for rain what's that? :lmao: Socal don't get much rain, dirt still accumulates but I think not as much. The video link below gives you an idea, I followed what he did basically.

Polished off the headlights and sealed the sunroof shut. Rather have no sunroof then a leaky one...

Replaced AC blower motor and filter, rear tail light and fixed console door.

Swapped in a smoker's kit. Took 2 minutes tops. I found it for ~$40 used on Amazon but it appears to be brand new. Certainly never used for smoking so I'm pretty happy with it.

Also a center organizer since the stock cavernous console is a bit too much.

I definitely can’t take credit for this but I saw a user here use these same exact things I saw in advanced auto parts so I gave it a try! They are plastic cup holders that fit pretty well into the 4runner cup holders that we know are terrible.. so I took it upon my self to so his mod but he had the whole thing sticking out so I wanted mine recessed in so it wasn’t super noticeable. I trimmed down the holders and the sides so they would fit flush with the middle peice that comes out and screwed them right to the middle piece and they work great! No spilliage are all or any annoying movement. 4 dollar investment is the best one so far...

Eliminated DRL's and installed the Smart Tap relay to add tap to turn functions...just have gotten way too used to it in our Subaru. Also, installed all new LED bulbs to go with it - one of the nice things about the Smart Tap relay is that it works as-is with LED bulbs, no need for additional resistors, etc.

As in tap the stalk and it flashes a few times then goes off? More info if that's the case, sorely miss this on my 4R any time I drive the wife's CX-5.

Gah, What was the culprit?

I had a lawn mower in the back. Some Jack-hole ran a red light in front me (no collision, thankfully) and made me swerve hard. Mower shifted and poked out the glass from the inside. BANG!

BTW, used an oscillating tool with a smooth blade to cut out the old window molding. Worked like a champ! Just make sure to tape around the edges to protect paint.

Yes - that tap to turn....

If you have DRL's, you need Toyota PN 82241-35010 - this is an adapter harness that eliminates your DRL's, which is required to use the Smart Tap relay:

SmartTap LED Flasher for 2003-2009 Toyota 4Runner (non-DTRL)

This flasher relay lets you run LED bulbs without the need to wire up a resistor to prevent hyper flash. You can adjust the number of flashes you get with a turn stalk 'tap' as well as change your 4-way flasher modes.

edit: the flasher relay is behind the in-cabin fuse block, so you do need to remove the lower panel and support bars to swap it out, but its all 10mm bolts (and 2 nuts) holding it all in...took me about 15 minutes to swap that and bulbs out. You don't need to swap to LED's, it will work with standard bulbs...

“Full Monty” windows tinted

Just got my windows tinted today, been meaning to for months and had to schedule almost a month out.

He called it “The Full Monty” window tint lol. Did all windows including the windshield with Sun Tex Carbon film.

-55% on the windshield
-30% on the fronts
-18% on the rears including back roll down
