Found out that i got scammed on my 4th gen purchase. Anyone know how many replies it takes to finally make a thread? I have no 4WD and the actuator is leaking all over. Hard to find prices on getting this fixed (not going to dealer) or if i should just sell it.

You mind sharing what happened? I know you mentioned about the 4wd, anything else?

I didnt make the bracket for the bottom mount. Just used two self tapping screws like you see in the pic. Holds fine.

Speedohealer and new lens for instrument cluster

Got my Speedohealer installed and calibrated today. Speed is right on now.

Replaced my scratched old original lens cover for my instrument cluster. Figured I might as well do it at the same time since I’d have it out anyways.

Stoked about both. Not sure which I’m more excited about. Very nice to have such a transparent gauge cluster now.

I kindasorta wrapped up a wiring project, although I have 1 thing left to do and 1 change to make. Goal was to extend direct battery power to the rear cargo compartment. I used:

• Blue Sea 60 amp circuit breaker in the engine compartment. In retrospect, I probably should have gone with no more than 40 amp as I never intend to run 60 amps through this.
• 8 ga from battery to circuit breaker, and to rear cargo area. I opted to run the negative all the way back as well. Wiring is run along door sills on driver's side, and up to the small storage box on the driver side rear wheelwell.
• A no-name 6-gang fuse block with illuminated fuse indicator. When powered, if the fuse is good, the red light for that circuit is on. No fuse or blown fuse, no indicator. I do not like this fuse block simply because of the shape and the mess it makes of wiring, so I'm looking for a rectangular one now.
• 2 ultrafine make many people happy of the world! Chinese aluminum IP68 USB outlets.
• 10 ga from fuse block over to passenger side for my Engel fridge. This is the 1 thing I need to do yet, is decide on where I want to put the Engel outlet.
• And while not related to this, I installed a dual USB QC outlet in a center console blank, reusing the cigarette lighter wiring (so ignition-on only). It has a battery level readout, which has proven to be rather accurate.

I wish to hell I could get the latte stain from the PO off the trim, but here's the center console outlet:

I found a little bracket in my pile o' s***, which fit some existing holes in the engine bay perfectly. Just had to drill 2 holes in the bracket to mount the breaker:

Cut a 1.25" hole in the driver's side rear cargo panel for a dual-USB outlet:

On the passenger side of the cargo area, I removed the OEM outlet, and put another dual USB in its place using my wiring:

Being a s***ty picture-takerer, this is the little storage area above the driver rear wheel well where I put the fuse block. Not pretty, getting changed:

You may just need to repair the electric motor by soldering two connections. But if its dead, Go to ebay and get a used one. Before installing it solder the two motor connections.

Didnt you look underneath for any leaks? BTW, you just never know when these thing will stop working. Some fail in cold weather, so the seller may not have known.

Zero leaks before hand.No 4wd, no lights, no beeps. Taking it to shop, expecting a hold new transfer case will be needed.

It’s been a while since my T4R got any love. Today was all about her. Replaced both front 5100’s due to one of them coming apart and spewing its oily guts all over. Replaced the leaking rear Toytec Boss shocks with Icon 2.0’s. Installed Toytec bump stop blocks in the rear. Installed a tri-color badge in the grille.

Thanks man, I designed them up in solidworls in between work conference calls and had my local sheetmetal vendor laser cut them and throw them in the press break.

Surprisingly all my angles came out half decent.

And yessir, thats my 95 supra I've owned since 2004. Currently getting neglected with all the t4r work.. needs to have the new carbon fiber bunper and sideskirts painted, been year now since I put them on..

Sweet dude, both Molle and Supra are clean! I wanna start designing and building some custom things for my 4runner, but apartment life is really cramping my style right now lol. I also hope big boy engineering isn't all conference calls uh oh

Just hit 160k in the 08 V8 4WD! Also just put in the newly designed h11 led headlight by Sealight.. They are fantastic.

Yea.. I've been very fortunate to have had the opportunity.. I was in high school from 02-06 and picked this up near end of the junior year.

I busted my ass working at Chuck E. Cheese's since I was legally able to work at 16 and gave everything paycheck I had to my parents to help pay for it. Back then they were affordable.. We picked it up for $16k .. had 70k miles on it, but was Non turbo, hardtop and 5spd. My parents helped with a big portion of the cost obviously but I was able to save up probably 6-8grand for it.

16 years later, the car is completely rebuilt with countless hours in the garage, transmission and engine swaps, the whole nine yards. It's been a fun, expensive hobby.. or so I thought, until I got a damn 4runner. I feel like it's so much easier to blow money on this vs the supra lol.
