What did you do with your 4runner today?

Yea.. I've been very fortunate to have had the opportunity.. I was in high school from 02-06 and picked this up near end of the junior year.

I busted my ass working at Chuck E. Cheese's since I was legally able to work at 16 and gave everything paycheck I had to my parents to help pay for it. Back then they were affordable.. We picked it up for $16k .. had 70k miles on it, but was Non turbo, hardtop and 5spd. My parents helped with a big portion of the cost obviously but I was able to save up probably 6-8grand for it.

16 years later, the car is completely rebuilt with countless hours in the garage, transmission and engine swaps, the whole nine yards. It's been a fun, expensive hobby.. or so I thought, until I got a damn 4runner. I feel like it's so much easier to blow money on this vs the supra lol.

Expensive but worth it, there’s no music sweeter than a 2JZ 2 stepping 3 foot fireballs lol.

Finally got my 04 into the local muffler place today (had to cancel on them twice because of unfortunate circumstances) and they called me wanting $770 for a simple Magnaflow muffler install. $250 for the muffler, $330 for the labor, and $190 for pipes and new tip.

Told them to take it off the lift and that I'll pick it up later and immediately bought the same muffler for $85 on Amazon. Now I just need to find another local place to install it.

I know right!? I was super excited because after three years of "I love my 4Runner because I don't feel the need to modify it" I finally decided to make some changes and then this happened.

Couldn't believe it when he read that quote.

770 bucks for a muffler install ?? Wow lol. I thought $190 was expensive for crap welds the meineke charged me for mine..


Frank-the-tank (as my buddy has called it after the last round of mods lol) is one step further. Got thr molle panels painted and everything fitted. Cant say that I hate it..

sounds like the same guys who quoted me $1200 to install a mid-catalytic converter (I supplied the cat) on my 2004 Forester. When I balked they said "how about $800?"

I took the car back instead.

Fedex made an unexpected delivery and processed my ordered with East Coast Gear Supply for complete 3rd members with 4.56 gears and ARB lockers front and year. Cant wait to see all of this come together in the truck later this month.

I love the new sea light design! Great cutoff and I haven’t had anyone flash me since I installed them. They do look weird without the DRL on in my opinion, that mod is on my to-do list.
