Yes, I do. I used the Dorman textured black handles. 82499 for the driver front door, 82498 for the passenger front door, and 93994 for the rear doors. So far the fit and feel is great.

Finally replaced the chrome door handles with black handles.

I also detailed it today inside and out since it was pretty filthy. What started as a simple wash and vacuum snowballed into a full detail, buff and wax thanks to my OCD and a can of Red Bull. Should be good for a while now.

Old and Worried 1997 RWD 4R S/S Assembly

Since I had the Frontend Strut/Spring Assembly replaced and the read shocks as well! Was told that I ordered 4WD Struts/Springs instead of 2WD and all the parts had been installed since the second week of June 2021!
My question to you all, is a difference in the 4WD versus the RWD Strut/Spring Assembly, sure looks like the struts on part house give different numbers! Is there a specification page for this somewhere! When I spoke with the various part houses get conflicting stories on the parts being interchangeable, etc.. just concerned!

Finally got tired of having a floppy shifter so found a used assembly on eBay and ordered it. Hopefully this one isn't dead, too New shifter assemblies are a lot more than the $50 that I paid, though, and it has a warranty. So I'll take the risk. Holding it over in 3rd is a pain when towing.

Also should be receiving the world famous Napa awning today! Gonna be great for trackdays.

Replaced front wheels bearing and cv axle. I took me around 8 hours

This pic from our recent visit to Cape Lookout sums up why I own a 4Runner. We had an amazing day.

The white haze is blowing sand and the conditions on South Core Banks brought to mind a passage written by the Wright Brothers at Kitty Hawk: “We came down here for wind and sand, and we have got them.”

Not today, but in the past few weeks the 4th Gen has gotten a full detail, ceramic window tint all around, dash cam install, and new tires 265/65/18 Cooper AT3 4S.

Finally got around to doing all the brakes. New calipers, rotors, pads all around. It rides so much smoother (rear calipers were seized...) No more resistance and it coasts for a good while now! Bedded them in and they grab hard and fast. Now on to the rest of the maintenance before the baby comes!

Did my brakes a month or so ago as well, upgraded fronts to 5th gen and all. Same outcome here, feels like a new car after getting rid of a seized rear caliper.

Replaced my overhead console with one that has a Homelink garage door opener. Its plug and play.

Finally figured out how to remove and disassemble the rear arm rest/drink holder. There was some rattling and clunking when move it up or down and was not working correctly. Took it apart and retrieved the change that was rolling around in there. Cleaned it and put it back.

I didn’t know you could pop 5th gen brakes on the 4th gens. I knew you could put Sport brakes on non sport models though and have been planning on doing the swap to mine. How hard is the 5th gen swap?

Mine were direct bolt on. I got everything from a 2011. If you don't have the larger sport brakes already, you'll have to do some trimming on the dust shields. But otherwise everything bolts right up. From what I've seen, they have much less issues with the seizing part!

New exhaust muffler back. The weld at the muffler/tailpipe snapped. The crappy patch job which removed the flange didn't help any...

did this last week, still need to redo some small things, might change out the MDF to Plywood, or add a sheet of secondskin audio damplifier pro. waiting one some more wire and new fused block.

Got the joy of doing the window tint on my front two windows only to realize the tint is crap and already showing bubbles forming on the outside.

Warning: the window tint from autozone made by Gila is crap and does not stick.

Now I have to remove it and do it all over again.

Oh dang. That's no fun. I had 3M ceramic tint put on the front two windows of my Tahoe. It was wonderful stuff. Blocked UVA and UVB light and didn't get anywhere near as warm inside compared to just having the factory smoked glass. I'd like to put that stuff on my 4runner when I have the time.

Today I changed my oil. Was only 970 miles overdue. Used an AC Delco PF53 filter, and Penzoil Platinum 5w-30. Also threw in a splash of motorkote. Next up, air filter, following that, either shock absorbers and rear springs, or diff oil changes. Not sure which.
