What did you do with your 4runner today?

I made a custom intake. It was very simple, just a few 90 degree elbows, hose clamps and some adapter bungs for the various vacuum hoses.

Replaced the tensioner pulley. Tonight I'll fall asleep thinking how I probably added at least 5 horsepowers.

Removed my roof rack cross rails and managed to do so without cracking any of the tabs on the read end caps. I'll likely just sell the rails as I haven't used them and I want to eventually move to a diy bolt together roof rack, perhaps a 3/4 to keep my sunroof view clear.

Not today, but over the last month or so I've:

• Changed Front Diff, Rear Diff, Transfer Case Fluids with Synthetic
• Flushed Transmission with Toyota WS
• Added a matching 265/65/18 Cooper AT3 4S to do tire rotations
• Installed Moog Sway Bar Bushings front and Rear
• Extended Rear Diff Breather to gas cap/filler area
• Installed ARB Skid Plates
• Flushed Brake Fluid
• Flushed Power Steering Fluid

The fluids didn't make any difference really, as expected. It was just good preventative maintenance. The transmission shudder got a little better maybe with the fresh fluid. Supposedly the previous owner had the Toyota dealer do a transmission flush like 10k miles before I bought it, but I'm not sure I believe it after the records claimed the WP was also changed but it didn't appear to have been.

The sway bar bushings made a huge difference in handling around corners and curves. It is much flatter now and more fun to drive. My bushings only had 87k miles on them, so if you have high miles and OE bushings I'd recommend changing them.

The ARB skid plates are really the only thing pic worthy, so here's a few pics.. I just posted another thread asking about the RCI Bumper Filler plate to fill that gap between the radiator and bumper.

Rear diff breather with just a little silicone around it to make sure it is sealed up good.

With the V6 bumper mounted hitch the +1 size spare is a tight fit, but it works.

Took a little drive out near Gunlock reservoir yesterday. Plenty of rocks and sand to play round in. First real test of the new 285 General Grabbers they did pretty good I’m liking these tires!! Upside down picture time!

Today I installed new backup and license plate LEDs from auxito.com.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who they offered free LED's in private messages, but I figured why not give 'em a try. They sent me new LED backup lights and LED license plate lights in exchange for a review, and I gotta say I'm happy with the product. I didn't realize it but one of my license plate lights was burned out anyway, so it was a timely install.

I've already done LED's in the interior everywhere besides the dash & glovebox, but this has made me want to get rid of all the old bulbs I have left. Shipping was quick and the lights seem high quality. The backup LED's in particular are a huge upgrade over the OEM bulbs.

Sir we're going to need more pictures of that rear bumper! Thats awesome, I really like how its well integrated into the cover! I assume you made that yourself? Thats kinda my goal for a rear bumper

I’m definitely no expert but I think you’d be safe to stay with the same gauge that the harness was built with.

I’ve wired all my cheapo lights myself. 10 gauge to the relays with an inline fuse and 14 gauge to the switches and lights. Dunno if that helps.

Bumper and swing out turned out killer!!!

Wired em up today. The s1's are pretty bright for how small they are. Just need to swap out switches tomorrow so I can put into oem slot and zip tie harness to frame and such. I see am S pod type of thing in the future, would love to tidy up my wiring.
