LCA bushings & ball joints have been on my radar for a while. Today I did a quick front end inspection in advance of some wheeling next weekend and this is one of my driver's side LCA bushings. Passenger side looks similar. My take is that they're toast and I need to replace them ASAP. Truck is an '07 with 226K miles and those are the original bushings.
I would appreciate opinions and/or your experience if yours have looked like this. TIA.

Broke it. Had an Icon stage 3 installed on my wife's 2007 by my local shop on Wednesday. About 10 miles later she heard a loud popping sound while on the way to the grocery store. Looking under the drivers side front wheel, there is a lot of grease splitter everywhere. Any ideas?
I'm more of a motorcycle guy, just getting into 4x4.

just did this yesterday. old dynamat still holding strong, decided to add another layer on the cargo floor, exhaust is much quieter now, so much work since I was doing other things at the same time.

I would say they should be replaced, but it isn't a critical thing unless you have symptoms or issues while driving. Replace them when you get around to it, but don't delay your trip just because of these. My bushings looked the same in my 3rd gen with about that mileage. I swapped the entire arm for Toyota because that was easier that replacing the bushings and it was my only vehicle at the time.
Your CV axle boot is torn, that's where the grease is coming from. You can reboot the OEM axle if it hasn't been torn too long and let a bunch of dirt in, or you can replace the entire axle. Not a particularly hard job to do yourself, but does require disassembly of the front suspension. I'd replace the seal in the front diff too while you're in there.
The loud popping is suspicious though, tearing the CV boot isn't usually something you would feel or hear. It's just something that happens with age and you notice it visually, unless it's been torn a long time and the joint is now going bad too.

seems my right rear shock mount has rusted and broke through the mount so I spent the day removing the shock, cutting out all the cancer, sanding the metal and spraying epoxy primer on the metal to save what is left. Now I have to search the net and find where I can get soem sheet metal to weld in place so I can install my shock.

I have always been a little hesitant to try a throttle booster from the various companies out there. Most of them seemed to be more geared towards car usage but did have applications for trucks.
For the last couple weeks I have been trying out the Throttle Grenade from HOME - BLACK OPS OFFROAD ….made for trucks and offroad use. I was completely blown away with the difference it has made in the throttle response. Having the 4.7 V8 it has not been a lack of horsepower but just a slight lag in the throttle reaponse. The Throttle Grenade completely elleviates that issue. I have mainly kept it in the “INTEL” mode as it fits my driving style.
If you are looking for more response kick it up to “XPLODE” in any of the 1-9 settings….just make sure you have emptied your bladder first.
I have not had the chance to test out the “CRAWL”, “SAND & MUD” or “OFFROAD+” yet but do not expect anything less from those.

Rooftop rifle case
I had a Pelican rifle case in my garage that doesn't get used as much as I'd like. It gets used occasionally, but mostly collected dust over the last decade or so.
I've seen a lot of people put these on their rooftops, so I decided to do the same. Put it on my Prinsu roof rack along with my Yakima fly fishing rod holder and road shower. Should be a pretty cool storage addition for my next trip.
Sorry, no pictures (because grabbing my phone isn't my first reaction to everything I do - maybe I'm getting old like that even though I'm only early 40s).

I found a parking brake cover designed for use in a Mercedes and thought it'd match the sport pedals my 4Runner came with. I had to modify the rubber backing in order to fit the pedal on the 4R but it's reasonably secure now. At least for the type of use it will receive.
I think it's a pretty good match! I want to try polishing the older pedals with the dremel and shine them up a bit.
I also got a few more pieces painted in my ongoing interior blackout project.

Looks like your cv axle boot busted. If you hear clicking while turning then you'll probably need to replace whole axle. If you don't hear any clicking, a re boot is probably good enough.
What seats did you go with?
Thanks. I have not driven it after my wife parked it, but I did grab it and give it a good tug. It seems solid.

Yeah, its pretty common when we lift our 4runners for the first time that the cv boot busts open. They make reboot kits for $40-50 USD. Very easy and messy job if you have the right tools.
Sorry, I haven't figured out yet why I do not receive notifications of responses on this forum!! I got mine on Amazon, they were like $80 dollars. For some reason they're no longer available. I wanted the kind with square switches as I had to blank spots in the center console. If I could do it again, I would get the adjustable ones that have more settings than just High or low. Like these!

While you are dealing with the CV joint/boot. You need to tighten the tie rod lock bolt. That will keep it in the correct orientation to the steering arm. Potentially causing premature wear.
Someone missed that.
Might be worth giving the other bolts a look over and possibly checking torques
