Going broke slowly. Semi retired from my professional career as a graphic artist but can always work part time as a poker dealer when I run low on funds. Might do that this winter in Vegas if I don't win any big tournaments to cover expenses.

Installed spare tire in back instead of under the rear. Standing vertically on passenger side held in place with three chain lengths with a short spring in each one before a hook. One chain connects to tie down ring just inside rear door, another to tie down ring just inside rear door on passenger side and the third to the "coat hook" above rearmost side window on passenger side, replaced coat hook with a steel loop. I don't off road so no worry on high speed whoops and the like, but it is pretty solid, no movement over RR tracks.

Got any pics. I’ve been thinking about mounting the spare in the storage area by building a “cage” or bracket to mount it in along with packout box storage.
Reattached the wires going to my busted, rattly, old, dim LED lights that came on the car. Rerouted the positive from the battery to the relay box at an empty 12v spot.
I should have picked up some new 8" halogen Hellas at a thrift store when I was in Denver but didn't want to spend $25 lol

I have been having a very funny experience with my '09 4Runner over the last couple/few weeks. I started dating a very petite Asian girl who weighs a hair under 85 lbs. Well, apparently the air bag sensor in the passenger seat in my '09 4Runner Limited is set at exactly, precisely 85.0 lbs.
Usually, when she gets in, the air bag light says "OFF" because it's below the cutoff weight. Last week, it showed "ON" for a couple of days. Total panic: "Oh noooo, I'm getting fat!!!"
She was very relieved to see it indicate "OFF" again over the past few days.
I guess Asian mothers really impose toxic beauty standards on their daughters because, while I could care less, to her this issue is an embarrassment of epic proportions and a federal crisis to boot!

The great wood conversion is finished! Here is a final dash pic. So worth it.
Why? In what way should it be edited or removed? It's a fact, it's something recent involving my T4R, and I just thought it was funny.
Are you a professional offense-taker? If so, why are you driving a 4Runner? ... you might be happier in a magenta VW Bug and enrolling in prancersize classes.

Well I finally decided to do something about the ancient audio and went a different direction than most. I am really really happy with the results.
Instead of replacing my headunit I added one of those Apple CarPlay/Dashcam mirrors. I simply have the aux wire routed through the headliner and into my factory aux-in. Sound quality actually seems great. Added bonus is my fridge and rear tire carrier totally blocks my back window, so with the rear camera I can see out the back finally! You can set the mirror up to be half camera (either front or rear), half CarPlay or full screen CarPlay. I will likely keep it CarPlay and rear camera to use it as a digital rear view mirror.

Pulled rear "bumper" cover and scraped/sanded rear bumper for paint/Fluid Film. Wasn't as bad as it could have been, no rusted through areas but it's incredible how much rust scale you can get off of a piece of metal this size, I would guess about a pound-pound and half!
