After 17 years of faithful service, plenty of battle scars, and some help from an oscillating tool, the lower section of my front bumper announced its retirement with best wishes to the Lost Trails winch bumper taking its place. BTW, that's black PlastiDip I applied 5 or 6 years ago. Held up pretty well all things considered.

Installation was easy with a floor jack. Just lined up the holes with the 8 frame bolts, rolled it back, put on the nuts, and started reassembly.
Done!
Kind of bittersweet b/c this is very likely the last major mod I'll do.

Took the truck to get washed. Gotta get all that nasty road grime and salt off of my undercarriage. We're about to get walloped with another couple of storms here to end the week.

Bluesky 07, what actual oscillating tool did you use to cut the original bumper? Would a Dremel be inadequate? I've had my eye on that Lost Trails winch bumper.

replaced the front diff actuator, much easier than it seemed online
The Limited got hatch chrome accent handle. Nuts are easy to access. I still need two more chrome handles. I read somewhere that Lexus RX handles work in our trucks. They sort of do but fit loosely so are unacceptable. I'm one the fence regarding which chrome grill to get. I like the facelift chrome grill better but it is not plug and play.

An inexpensive one from Harbor Freight with what they call a half moon cutting blade. A Dremel will work, just may be a little more difficult, and take a bit more time. This video was very helpful.

This is from Venture Unknown's Winter Wonderland @ Windrock '24 event last weekend. I took my truck through some terrain I never thought I would (this is one of the milder rock gardens). Our trail captain, Brad of Prodigal Overland, was great at making us feel comfortable being uncomfortable.
Truck was in 4LO locked and my new Toyo AT3s were aired down to 15PSI. I have factory skids plus the RCI Offroad t-case skid; 4X Innovations welded sliders; and my latest addition, a Lost Trails lo-pro winch bumper. I did a lot of clangin,' bangin,' and scrapin' over the two days of guided rides but didn't even find a dent underneath when I checked at home. Brad's wife, Lauren, is the other voice in the video and she's a great spotter as well.

There was also "the big dunk" as I'm calling it. Please take it as a cautionary tale. Momentum going into mud is usually good, and somehow that's what was in my mind even though this was water. Too much speed ended up burying the hood. I was very lucky not to stall or ingest water. Lesson learned!

Gave the Truck some Lasik yesterday! Swapped to LEDs for my Highs/Lows/Fogs. Now i'm one of those turds with really bright lights. Hey, if you can't beat em, join em, I suppose.
