Maybe I oughta just be the guinea pig... I was going to go with the BFG AT's and still plan to do so but these tires look really good and seem like they would do great. They are also slightly cheaper :bigok:
What do you think about these Wrangler Duratrac Tires???

I'll problaby go with the E's myself. The other thing I really like is the raised white lettering, it kind of breaks up the all black look. Hopefully I'll be getting mine soon so whoever does get them first please post a picture.

If you're off road almost all the time then E range won't be noticeable but it will ride stiff on road and your acceleration and MPGs will be down a bit.
D is perfect for a DD 4Runner and fine for almost all off road excursions and the E benefit just doesn't seem to be worth the extra cost when you factor in even 1 less MPG over the life of the tire and a bit less peppy of a throttle (and 3rd gens don't need less of that).
I had E range Nittos on my Runner for a week and they rode very stiff and no sidewall flex which meant they broke loose around corners easier and simply were too much for my 4000lb 4Runner on the street and after a week I went and switched to D load range.
Tires are something you will be dealing with for a lengthy period time and for a sizeable chunk of change so purchase wisely and consider all opinions and experiences to make the choice that suits you best.

i went into americas tire co today to look at these in person...
im on the fence between these, the toyo open country at's, and terra grapplers. i finally decided on these for a few reasons....
1: cheaper than the toyos, by far
2: come in a load range c, so i will still have a comfortable ride, instead of switching from a 4 ply p tire, to a 8 ply D
3: as of right now, goodyear has not put mileage ratings on it, but ATC said they would give me the mileage ratings on the tire if they are ever released within the time period that i own the tire.
pulled out a set of 265/75/16's and propped them up against mine right now.... and they look amazing. found them for $840 after tax, with every warranty. cant wait for my tax return so i can go get them

That price seems a little high to me.
chaz-Sloan has an '01 so it's sitting a good bit lower than a '99.
