What GPS Do you use?

Factory Toyota nav for the ones with it, Garmin Nuvi660 for the cars without it. If the Nuvi's at home, then TomTom or Google Maps on the Treo or ask locals for directions. ;):
 
+3 or 4 for the Nuvi. I've used a 660 and it was great. I was going to buy a 750, but the 650 just came on sale and I can't pass it up so I'll pick one up today.
 
When I do use GPS, it's w/ a Nokia GPS unit paired to an HTC Wizard using MSPS software....Not the greatest but gets the job done....
 
garmin 2720

I have Garmin 2720 for the past two years+
My only problem is that it turns off by itself .......remember happening about 4 times in the past two months.
Guess it could be some kind of loose connection.
Any ideas where I should check please......
 
The 2720's power cord comes loose pretty easily. You could just tape it in place on the back of the unit. Garmin will also send you another cord, but the same problem will develop over time.
 
I'm running the Garmin Nuvi 680 and I mounted it under the hazard button. Does anybody else have this model, it sometimes takes the unit a couple minutes to get satellite acquisition which I don't know if this is normal or not. Sometimes its basically instant, other times it takes a bit of time... how long does it normally take yours to connect?

Wish I could afford the Avic Z2... beautiful looking in-dash unit.

I noticed on my 350, that if it is turned on in a different place that it was turned off at it takes longer to acquire. It pretty much has to figure out where it is again. If I turn it on where it was last turned off at it's much faster.
 
I am using Garmin 478 (marine and road). Just took it for a camping and Off-road trails trip to AZ and worked pretty OK with the Waypoints. However the POI's were completely wrong every time I used it. Kind of disappointing!
 
I just picked up the Nuvi 680, saved me from getting lost at the Atlanta airport this weekend trying to get back to 75. It does take a little while to bring up the sats. when it has been turned off overnight.
Lowpro-did you hard wire you Nuvi? Did you have the traffic receiver in the car adapter or do you not use it? I have it for a year free and has been useful with a few alerts so I minus well use it while I have it but thought about hard-wiring it.
 
i've got the garmin nuvi 200 mounted below the hazard lights. i just use the included suction mount, why the need for the after market brackets?

Hey - that's a good idea! I never even thought of using the suction cup there. I suspect it's smooth enough it would work.

yea, the suction cup works pretty well. i leave mine mounted there all the time, and sometimes when i get in the truck the gps is lying in the floor. it is weeks or months between it falling, so its not like it happens every couple of hours or anything!
 
Just got a Magellan 4250 yesterday and was thinking of mounting the plate in the bottom of the cup holder and using it that way, lose one cup holder while in use but looked like a good location.
 
I use my Magellan 3140 only on long trips and to 3rd world countries. Just kidding, Miami isn't a 3rd world county, is it?
