Just bought a Nuvi 350 yesterday at lunch. So far I love it, im traveling on sunday so we will see after a real test. Darn good price at Circuit City.

Love them both. Both will speak the street names, the cheaper ones will not and this was important to me.

My in-laws wanted my Garmin nuvi 200 since its easy to use, so it was sold to them (CHEAP). I now have a Garmin nuvi 360 with Bluetooth for the RAZR2 cell phone. Nice GPS.

The 250w text to speech is pretty good. It does not call out street names but does tell you when to turn left and when.

My dad has a C340 that does the full streetnames and it works very well. It is very clear.

Pioneer Avic Z2

I have the Pioneer Avic Z2. I've had it for almost one year.

Added Options

• Steering Wheel control Module (kept all wheel control functions)

• XM Satellite Module
• XM Satellite Traffic
• Hacked and wired to disable parking break lock-out

I'm very happy with the unit. I was able to wire into the stock 5 channel amp in my 06. I'll replace the amp soon, but that was a nice benefit and the stock amp is pretty good.

The Z2 is a nice unit and works great around town. For me, the "Nav Traffic" feature is worth every penny and then some. Living in So Cal, traffic on the freeways can be a problem, with "Nav Traffic" the GPS receives instant and continues traffic reports via XM satellite radio signal. This gives you average road speeds, traffic congestion patterns, road work, accident and other possible delays. When there is traffic on your route, it asks if you want to be routed around the traffic and then gives you options. Gotta love that!

I'm looking now to add a second GPS unit, one for serious expedition off-road mapping. The Z2 is not useful off road. I'm liking the Lowrance GlobalMap Baja. It's built to take the vibration and impacts of off-roading. Anyone have experience with this unit or something like it? If so, I'd be interested to hear about it's off-road mapping and tracking capabilities.
