I have a Garmin 650. I tried many (bought and returned). The most overlooked is the Navigon 5100/7100 if you live in a congested area. Free traffic info! The negative, to me, is that you had to read the manual. I couldn't just hand it to my Mom and tell her to figure it out.
I settled on the 650. It's easy to use. I use and love the ability to select a 'bus' or 'truck' routing. I frequently tow BIG trailers (not with my 4Runner). It never runs me down roads I can't fit. The drawback of the 650 is no "cookie trail" to follow back to the road. My 650 is suction cupped right below the hazard light switch. I use the MP3 feature too, works pretty well:bigok:
I'd love a 478 as source for driving info, XM etc but that is one I can't just give to Mom or Dad...
