Exactly I love all the gens other then the 4th gen it just doesn't fit in I don't think. But they are all better then a jeep (I am the owner of a 1962 Willys truck blown trani but its just a show truck really but has off road potential) but love my 2nd gen and my spouses 3rd gen. Don't think I will ever get rid off my 2gen

They sure do, just not completely flat unless you take out the bottom cusion(2 bolts)

Um, you don't have to take out anything. The bottoms of the rear seats are hinged to flip forward against the backs of the front seats, leaving room for the backs of the rear seats to fold flat.

I know, i was referring to the little 2"lip that the bottom cusion leaves, hence its not perfectly flat...but it's perfect by my standards

Another thing 1st gen owners are jealous about is power windows all around and we still have teeth in our heads when we go over railroad tracks. Ok but honestly all us 2nd gen owners owe a thanks to the 1st gen because without it we wouldn't have our 2,3,4,5 gens. So thanks for being the learning curve 1st gens

Maybe Im missing something, but my 1st gen has power windows. I actually prefer not to have them though. Just something else to get buggered up. Who needs windows anyways when the top comes off?

^^^^^^ this 100 times ^^^^^^ I bought mine without power windows and door locks so they wouldn't go bad.

To add to the subject... I have to admit, having power windows and locks in my first gen is just plain weird.

I like it though. Feels futuristic for its time with all of its 80s electronic gizmos, digital dash, etc. I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff.
