What is the biggest tire I can get on a stock suspension?

No, the general consensus is 265/70/16 not 75 unless you want major rubbing on the trail with your stock suspension. The rubbing can make you worse off than with the smaller tires because you can't go up the trail due to flex rubbing.

LMAO, the general consensus is 265/75/16 is the largest tire to fit stock suspension. Not the 70 like you say. Its what I always ran on my 4runner.

i got 31 inch wranglers with barely any rub. They only rub on the mud flaps

Depends how much cutting and welding you are willing to do ... some guys have fit 35s

I got 31x12.5 and they rub alot but im a sandy baja type. On my passenger side, the bump stops rusted off so I get a hell of a lot of up travel and its bent the battery tray up a inch and I have been considering cutting some metal out and adding some room. My shocks died years ago and the lbj is starting to squeek but its stock with 165000 so im not surprised.

How much cutting would be required to fit 285/75-16s on my stock limited 4wd? I have no side steps, and have no problem trimming the front bumper some, but does anyone know if ill be able to drive it from the tire shop?

Mine has had the 265/75R16's since the first tire change, once the dealership ones were toast. They rub at full stuff when I'm at full lock going right, but that's the only time I've ever noticed any rub in mine. It's been awhile since I've done much more than a logging road in it since I don't have multiple secondary vehicles theses days to run while the DD is down for repairs. That, and my springs are sagging badly, I'm foreseeing that changing here in the next couple months though

Same question for a 2015 4R trail edition.
Gonna change the stock tire (265/70R17) with BF AT or ST Maxx for the stock rim (17") and suspension with more width (275 or 285).
Any rubbing? What do you think?
