Let's see;

The control stalks are opposite from my Ford. I always seem to use the wrong control for wipers, lights and cruise.

Roof is too low.

Seat is too low.

Tailgate is too heavy to shut.

Door controls not lighted at night. Although even during the day I have to look at the door controls.

Info display gets washed out during the day.

Rear window doesn't roll back up with remote.

The header pipe is too low.

As Thai noted, not a very clean underside for a vehicle that clearly is intended to be very capable offroad.

Oh, and only 14 mpg

100% agree....HOWEVER, I do wish there was some sequence you could go through to lock the systems out when you wanted to tear up a logging road or get it all bent in the snow. If it was a bit of a procedure, chances are very good that the people who need these systems couldn't be bothered to disable them anyways.

One other thing that annoys me:

No 'mist' feature for the wipers. You have to turn the wipers on and then off to clear the windows of light mist. WTF?

Couldn't agree more!!!! God D^%n annoying. I also agree with another post about the easy to scratch interior plastics. It's a pain when I have my dog in the car. Don't care much for the new front of the 06 models. Looks to bulky & lower to the ground. Love my 04!!!!

The auto-locking feature (when you put the vehicle in gear) on the doors is somewhat annyoing, but hardly worth mentioning. I have gotten to the point where I unlock all the doors by reflex action when I arrive home with groceries in the back seat or hatch area.

I don't know if this was mentioned elsewhere in the thread, but you can disable that feature, or (what I did) enable another feature to unlock everything once you shift back into park. It's in your owner's manual.

You can add a remote oil filter and mount it under the front bumper and all you have to do is reach behind the front bumper.

I don't like that you don't have one touch roll down and up on the windows other than the drivers... I had that added in my mustang where both windows were 1 touch roll down and roll up so it drives me crazy that only the drivers window in the runner has that...I think I will be adding that feature to this car as well.

If these haven't been mentioned:

1) Headliner material so easily marred.
2) IP bezel so easily scratched.
3) Seat belt buckle chips the door edge paint if you exit too aggressively.

You can set the lock/unlock feature to automatically unlock all doors after you remove the key and open the driver-side door (I think this works if you open the door within 20 sec. or so after you remove the key)

You have to set this for the unlock mode to work, of course.

I don't know about the runner, in my mustang the alarm I had installed made them one touch...it might be a button, but in my mustang I had to install window modules to make it work like that.

1. The orange interior lights. They look like a color that should be in a car from the 80's....I really wish it was a cool white or blue look. This really gets too me. Friends talk about how cool the truck is but when they get in it at night I almost feel like I have to point out that I don't like the dash colors before they say something.

3. That pointless "Hamburger holder" that flips out from the center console.
4. Also agree, the levers for the hood and gas cap are right next to each other. I also have had to do some impromptu checking of oil level to avoid looking dumb at the gas station.
5. Finding the window levers at night. I swear I open the back windows first everytime.
6. No engine light under hood.
7. The fact that the "SPORT Edition" of the 4R does not come with the Compass mirror!!!!!!! By it's very nature the Sport Edtion would incline you to think it was geared towards someone who may take the 4R off the beaten path a little more. As opposed to the limited edition which beckons to more comfort. I know I probably started something, but I am speaking in generalities now. I had to order the Compass Gentex mirror, because I had it in my jeep and it is very hard not to have it.
8. The comments I get from rednecks about owning a foreign car.

Have to do the modules. The modules know when to stop going up or down, and detect pinched fingers.

Yeah this is one thread where we can do a little bitchin'

I still, after three years occasionaly roll down the rears when I wanted to roll down the fronts.

A light in the engine bay would have been nice and cheap and easy to include.

As long as my lights aren't purple or pink then I don't really care or notice it.

-Having to put the key in the ignition to roll up rear window.
-Jumpy electronic throttle control.

Awesome vehicle though.

Don't have to do that. Just put the key in the lock that is on the rear hatchback. If you turn it to the lock side and hold it there, the window will roll up.
